Is it OK to pee in public at a nude beach. Sometimes the water is too cold to go into for this relief. I am usually not that close to others at the beach I go to, but nevertheless, I turn from the nearest beachgoers, (this is an unofficial nude beach with almost all textiles), and try to hide what I am doing, you know, shield stream behind leg, stand nonchalantly, etc.. Would this be necessary at a nude beach. Sorry if this has been addressed before. My computer locks up when I try to do a search on this site.

That sounds like a good plan ...for a girl. I'm not sure it's biologicaly possible for a guy to squat and only just pee at the same time. I don't know if this has ever been done. LOL At any rate it would take a pretty big hole for me to be able to go #1 without being seen using my preferred method of elimination, i.e. standing up. I would feel like a giant naked meerkat!(sp?)
Now that you mention it, I seldom if ever see women pee at any beach. I guess I just assumed they could hold it for a very long time. This clarifies things somewhat. Women are really cagey!

Wait a minute. A 53-year-old married guy assumed women "could hold it for a very long time"? Have you never taken a road trip?

Busted. Forgot people could look up my bio. Actually, my wife makes me make a screen for her with a towel or whatever is handy. I just haven't seen anyone else do that.
I must say, though, when I am with my wife I am very careful not to be looking at other women, peeing or otherwise. At her insistence, of course.

OK, your method works equally well for men. Sit at the edge of a towel, dig a hole, and pee. Cover hole, move blanket a little, job done.

If you've ever watched Italian soccer matches, I live in Italy, the players squat down at the edge of the field, pull up the leg of their shorts and pee, right there in front of everyone and the pictures often appear in the newspapers here. So why not use the same technique at the nude beach and it's even easier since there would be no shorts leg to pull out of the way.

If you are discreet, you can get away with most things. At a beach I attend I noticed a woman put on a sarong and go for a walk down to the rocks. It was hot and I thought she was just cooling down with her feet in a rock pool, it took me a while to realise she was attending to nature. I think she chose not to go for a swim and do this as the area for swimming is narrow and restricted so she was probably just being fair on the rest of us.

Don't worry about it, when nature calls you must answer. All our friends just do what we have to do and no one minds. We just excuse ourself and step off somewhere to do the deed. When we are all in the water someone will ask, did you feel that warm spot, when you answer no they will say GOOD ..... LOL

Wow, I hadn't thought that one out so I'm glad it seems to be widely understood to be a no brainer :-D

Lucky for me, the nude beach that I frequent has rest rooms. You have to dress to go to them, but it's not an issue. At the very top of the beach is a tree line, with a small dirt road and the bathrooms are on the other side. Once past the tree line, you have to be clothed. So I grab a towel, walk up to the tree line, wrap it around me and go. If no textiled people are in site, sometimes I'll leave the towel off, but rarely. I don't want to create a bad name for the nudists there and lose the one beach we have.

Just a word of caution re. peeing in the sea - seems to be associated with a higher than expected occurrence of UTI - especially in the summer months (= warmer water). The Wife and I have both had this problem, however keeping a short distance between the "bits" and the water seems to help. Seems we might not be the only ones with this experience (anecdotal evidence, but plenty of it).

I have a male friend who pees at clothed beaches even, using the "pull the leg of your shorts to the side." One time I was talking to him and suddenly noticed that he was peeing as we spoke. WTF?
My wife uses the "dig a hole' method when she has to. Most of the nude beaches we go to have an "area" that is off to the side and used for peeing discreetly.
