Textile-compulsivity has erupted yet again in the halls of government. If it does make to the Virginia legislature, it could become law. It will be interesting to follow this possible change of Virginia's state seal that would push mankind back to the palace of Queen Victoria, and her covered piano legs.
With violent crime, theft, etc., doesn't the Attorny General have more important things to do, or is this semi-nude seal causing waves of crime across Virginia all by itself?
I'm sorry, that should have read -- piano limbs. "Legs" is too provocative sounding. The queen was so protective of us, and where would we be today without her past guidance? A lot healthier, that's where!!
Link to the story, and one to a photo of the state seal. The proposed one has the woman, in the seal, wearing a shirt to hide here oh-so shameful appearence. Makes you want to wear a raincoat in the shower.
The news story: (There is the bowdlerized proposed new seal in this story) http://hamptonroads.com/2010/04/cuccinelli-opts-more-modest-state-seal?cid=

After you see this seal, go to the nearest police station and confess to seeing the seal.

Here are some images. The link above didn't work for me. The Great Seal Of Virginia, obverse and reverse.
That's the Goddess of Virtue defeating a tyrant, his crown falling to the ground. But what... Oh My God her breast is showing. Lock all the doors, call the national guard!
Reminds me of...
1916 American Standing Liberty Quarter
The next year they covered up Liberty's breast with chain mail. You know, the metal garment of choice for spiritual figureheads.
And let's not forget her naughty sister, the Spirit of Justice.
I just wish our government would see fit to print beautiful money again. From 1896, the five dollar silver note.
Oh, the horror.
