Cheef,
I totally agree... I've seen a few websites that promote "nudist" videos of young people in beauty parades and birthday partiies. I don't consider this in the realm of naturism. On the other hand, there are many naturist videos that do promote the lifestyle. Hence why I created the original post - "Naturist Videos".

I tend to believe that any images, no matter what they were intended for, can be abused and used as porn. I think that harmless photos can motivate different people in different ways. You'd be surprised what some people find erotic.

I agree with you nudeisntlude, I think it has a lot to do with the intention of the photograph, and the pose. Natural pictures of people enjoying nudism are okay, as long as they agreeable to having their pictures taken. It is not a good idea to take pictures of the kidos nude. Some people pose for nude pictures and the intent is arousal, not just daily activities.

Pictures taken showing a nude person being themselves or in a non sexual environment or pose are not pornographic. Pictures can be nude and tasteful. Look at the art from the ancient period and the Middle Ages. Many of the paintings are of people in various stages of undress or completely nude.

The problem is that you can't guard against the ill-intent of others. Even cases where the subject is totally mainstream and in the piblic forum... I remember one of my Psychology lecturers discussing in a "Crime and Deviance" class that many pedophiles get off from seeing young people in shopping catalogs.

Exactly right Spontanudity, and it follows my point. They eye of the beholder. It's the viewer, not the subject.

Nudeisntlewd,
Tho' that doesn't necessarily make a shopping catalogue porn, just because somebody has ill-intent.

I am a male. I have PLENTY of pics of me and my wife and friends. Both nude and clothed. I have posted pics on sites and have met people as a result of the pics. I've also seen at least 2 pics of me at a nudist resort appear on a website without me knowing the pic was even taken. I never send a pic to anyone unless I am asked to do so...but not just anyone. I've been on message boards and had people who never posted ask for pictures...(usually of my wife or other females). I've also had folks who post often ask, and although I never corresponded with them, it was plain to see they were for real and not trolling for nude pics for reasons other then nudism. I'm a bit long winded, but I'm trying to say that I personally, enjoy trading pics (nude, clothed, scenic, etc) with like-minded people. It is difficult and time consuming to weed out the trolls who are looking for pics for pure sex reasons; but it is absolutely a neccessary chore. So... to answer a few of your questions: how do you differentiate between a nude photo and porn photos? Depend on who you ask. My humblest opinion suggests that no sex=no porn. Do a lot of nudists take nude photos and allow nude photos to be taken of them? We do. I take a lot of pics of us and our friends. I personally have no problem with being photographed nude...just ask first! What do you do with the photos? Keep them in an album. I won't post a person's pic unless directed to do so by that person. Am I being oversensitive? No. You have to judge your own feelings and if you think something is wrong, well, it is. Now that I have a digital camera I COULD have nude photos of me.... but do I want to? YOU need to decide that. Just because you take nude pics of yourself, doesn't mean anyone else is gonna see them or get them unless YOU decide to do so. And what would I do with them if I had them? Whatever you like ( : Any insights about the whole photo thing would be appreciated.: Do whatever it is YOU feel comfortable with. Me, I like sharins/swapping pics. Others are not so comfy. I try to assure people I swap with that I don't show their pic to anyone without their permission and I expect likewise from them. Geez, someone tell me to shut up already. Sorry so long!!!!!

Cameras are generally seen as unacceptable at most nudist beaches, but how do you go about asking a stranger to take photo of you at a nude beach without making them feel uncomfortable?

Good question Spont. I did my avatar myself, and it was quite a feat to accomplish. But how do you ask a stranger to take some pics for you? I have enough trouble starting a conversation with a stranger to begin with, let alone in the nude. It still doesn't feel the same as having a stranger shoot you in front of a national monument or Disney World. I feel a little vulnerable in the nude, plus I'm not sure how some people would view the request.

Nudeisntlewd,
My concern is that you don't want the person taking the photo (or other people at the beach) thinking that you may take inappropriate photos of others on the beach. I just figure that cameras are generally dangerous devices on nude beaches.

Rahul,
I have never seen the paparazzi at a nude beach... I can't imagine why they'd be there.

Myself I don't post nude pictures of myself, friends, or family on the internet. Not that I am camera shy, and do take pictures at nudist functions. I feel they are not really for public consumption. While on the other hand, while communicating with other naturists, via email, or otherwise, I would feel no more uncomfortable sending a picture nude, then I would textile. Example: "Hey "WHOEVER" check out the picture of our new car. The fact that I may be "au natural" or textile in the picture with the car has nothing to do with it. It's telling, and showing someone our new car. GEEZ sometimes I have a hard time getting my point across, I hope you understand what I am trying to say! Happy Holidays
