In looking at this forum from years back, I noticed posts by a fair number of women. Nowadays it seems to have dwindled down to a mere one or two (and we DO appreciate your posts). What happened to the others? It's nice to get the female perspective on topics, but it's often missing these days.

I could only guess that there are a number of guys who sign up to sites like this only to browse for naked women. Perhaps they bothered the women on here too much that they don't post any longer?

I think we are just busier than you guys. We do seem to get more unintended attention after posting...oh, well. I'll try to post a bit more to give you guys "the rest of the story".

Enjoy the sunshine!

Actually only yesterday I was thinking in posting, as I was very busy preparing food for Passover in the nude. I almost burnt myself, and my better one was not too happy about it. Well I enjoy being free (no bra, no underwear etc.....) I was very involved with Balataf about politics, but unfortunately he does not seem to post anymore. I read now and again the postings.
Last month we were at Haulover Beach and I really enjoyed swimming in the ocean.
One of your members does not think I am a real nudist because I would not be nude in front of my children or grand children.
Voila....any comments?

I'm still around. Problem is many topics don't really relate to me or my family, so I can't really comment on them. It seems many on here found nudism later in life so they can relate to the textile point of view more. As I have never been uncomfortable with nudity and was raised never knowing anything else, I can't really add much to the "first time at a nude resort posts" or most of the "dealing with those who are not nudist type posts". Except for when I'm at work, which is only three days a week as a nurse, the rest of my time I am either at home, or at a nudist venue with others who are nudists. Unlike many I don't have to split my time between my "nudist" and "non-nudist" life.

I do try to comment on any post that I can though.

Jennifer

Yes, I have a comment. I say f#@k anyone who says anything! Seriously, I live by my own rules. I don't give a flying f#@k if someone says I'm not a "real nudist" or not. The fact of the matter is, I enjoy being naked as much as possible.

In all honesty, this is why I don't even like to be labeled a "nudist" any longer. I was just having this discussion with a childhood friend of mine that I am friends with on Facebook and haven't seen since 1985. She and I were talking and I mentioned that I don't wear clothes. She was very receptive to that and said that she sleeps naked and sometimes walks around that way too. But I told her that I'm a "nudist" even though I don't like that term. I don't like it because what I consider to be a nudist, isn't what this person considers to be, which is different from that person, etc. I'm tired of labels in society.

I love being naked. Plain and simple.

Here's the thing though: Words have definitions. A nudist is simply --someone who prefers not to wear clothes. I'm sure everyone can agree with that simple definition. So I wouldn't consider it a "label" in a negative way. No more than I would consider ANY other descriptive word a "label" to describe a person.

I agree with Jenn on this and have in the past on other topics concerning "labels." I've got a bunch of labels and it doesn't bother me.

I'm several types of nudist and also a naturist. I'm also a husband, father, grandfather ...

I don't worry too much about what other people label me but I do get my jaw tightened up when I'm spoken of rudely from inconsiderate and immature people. Anyone that states that you're not a "nudist" is usually trying to divert attention away from themselves and they should be ignored but sometimes it's difficult with boneheaded people.

Nudists come in all shapes, sizes and categories. If you like being naked and prefer not to wear clothes ... then, who cares if you only do it at home or in your backyard.

Loves being naked. Plays well with others!

It's several issues:

- Less female nudists (than men) actually identify themselves as nudists. Out of the many nudist women I've met over the years, maybe 10% or less identifyed themselves as "nudists."

- Many women tend to view their practice or views of nudism as "too private/personal" for the internet. Very rarely will you actually see a woman posting a very candid post relating a specific experience or giving very specific advice. My x was a good example of that. I tried a few times to sit her in front of the computer to give advice or respond to a post. No-can-do. To her these were conversations to be had in person, privately, within the context of an actual clothesfree environment. She would talk to other reluctant wives, talk very candidly about family nudism and how she progressed to being socially nude; and sometimes even engaging into conversations about more pointed topics like mens erections, physical contact and body posture. But to her, posting those opinions on the internet was completely out of the question.

- Distrust of a male-dominated sharing platform. It's inevitable, I think, that many women would start wondering why the same questions are being posed to them by an increasing male membership. Hence an increasing female dropout rate from forums.

Id like to think I post a "candidly" and offer "specific advice". I am willing to help other women with any issues they might have. I have no problem posting on this or any other forum about many topics with only 2 exceptions that I can think of:
1. Topics that have been beaten into the ground..shaving, erections..etc.
2. Posts that are obviously designed to insight discussion that is not about nudism..but about some "hybrid nudism/exhibitionist type banter". (you all know the types of posts I mean)

Thanks to all (especially the women) who posted. It does make the situation somewhat more clear to me. I guess my family is the same; I'm pretty sure my wife has never posted on a nudist site. In fact, I doubt she's posted anywhere other than facebook ;-).

Perhaps you are right, Jenn, but its unlikely that everyone can agree with that definition. Many now use the word "nudist" to mean someone who belongs to recognized nudist groups, or someone who promotes the values and "rules" advocated by "nudist" organizations.

I quit calling myself a "nudist" some years ago when I quit belonging to AANR or TNS groups. Now I just go around naked whenever I get the chance, and post naked positive comments on web sites sometimes. But I'm not a "nudist."

Having fun naked

Bob

I do disagree though Bob--If you "prefer to be clothes free whenever possible" you are a "nudist" in my book. To me that's what a "nudist" is.
