HI all,
Just had the most enjoyable holiday at a gite in Deux Sevres. Although not advertised as being Naturist friendly it is so private that we had no qualms about doing what we liked. The owners, Tim and Lin live on site and had no problem with us being 'au naturel'. The only time we saw them was when Tim came down to clean the pool every morning. And what a pool - biggest we have ever seen in a gite - Tim tells me that it's 40 feet by 20 feet and the deepest part is 8 feet deep. Jan - my wife was stunned by the quality of the furniture and bedding. The kitchen is great and well equipped. It was a real luxury to have a private bathroom - all the bedrooms are en-suite and the 'big bedroom' and its bathroom have to be seen to be believed. The dining and sitting area is huge - Tim & Lin told us it used to be a private disco and still has the original mirror ball which works - the kids loved it!
The garden is what makes it so good, it is surrounded by a 9 foot high hedge/fence and really is private. Lots of trees and flowers and we we told to pick as many strawberries as we liked - they're finished now but there were lots of them and they tasted great, what a treat. The kids loved Oliver and Henry, Tim & Lin's black cats and the three hens, Milly Molly and Mandy are fantastic - we had to drag the kids away from them when we left.
Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
