Spontanudity,

I think people who are nude around their home are called home nudists.

Melissa,

I'm not convinced that you could qualify people as being nude at home as "nudists". And I'm sure many people who are nude at home would object to being categorised a nudist.

Cheers,

Melissa, my wife Who is not a nudist) and I never close the bathroom room door. We dress and undress in front of each other, plus both will use the bathroom at the same time. When sitting on chairs at home I will use towels.

Also, I think a person could and should consider themselves a nudist if they only go around their house nude. People are at different stages of their level of comfort with nudity.

Irishred,

I've got friends that would be most upset if you considered them a nudist for walking around the house nude. I've never considered it a big deal in any case. Does one have to be a nudist to sleep naked?

Cheers,
Spontanudity

Spontanudity, IMHO, I think all people are nudists, just some to a larger degree than others. We all shower or bathe w/o clothes (I would hope - LOL).

Some are private nudists, some are social nudists.

Hugs, cheri

Sponta,
Why would your friends resent being called a nudist. Is there something wrong with being labelled as such? They walk around without clothes dont they, sounds like a nudist to me.

Unfortunately nudist resorts are more than I can afford right now so my little one and I are only nude around the house and backyard but I consider us nudists.

I like Sheri's idea that everyone is a nudist. We all have a body and we're all nude under our clothes.

If someone had called me a nudist 3 months ago (you know, a full month before I became a nudist LOL) I would have been HIGHLY offended. At that time I only bathed naked and I did even that with my eyes closed. In my eyes nudity was disgusting, dirty, sinful, and shameful. While I'm probably not the norm in that regard, I think many textiles feel the same as I did to some extent. Most people who aren't nudists think of nudist colonies and orgies when they hear about nudism. Who would want to be associated with that? Not I. Which is one reason that it was hard for me to even click on a nudist site. Back then I thought it pretty gross that all these nudist sites had nude pictures on them- pornography, for sure. Now I quite enjoy the pictures and see the body as beautiful. Furthermore, by seeing such a wide variety of human bodies I can see that I'm quite normal and that there's nothing to be ashamed of. It's amazing to see how my views have changed in the past 2 months. Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for helping me along this beautiful road to healing as I've learned about nudism.

Melissa

ps- I'm in tears over here just thinking about the whole transformation.

Well Melissa you've made a wonderful transition. I can remember learning of and reading some of your first posts here and on another site. How you talked and worried about your first experience.

You've transitioned into the nudist lifestyle just great and are now helping other newbies feel better about the lifestyle and more comfortable talking to you and others on these message boards.

Thanks for all your posts and contributions thus far into the naturist way of life.

And enjoy your nudist home life, we really love our nudist home life and enjoy reading your posts!

Cheri,

So if we are all nudists that would also make us all textiles as well... Now I'm offended! ;)

Even as a nudist I say that there are a few things that needs to be done in private. Using the toilet is one of them. I live alone but I always close and lock the door when I do that. That is the way I am.

Some of us are social nudists, some are private nudists, its all what you are comfortable with. We are all textiles, I don't know anyone other than people retired to a nudist resort, that have to wear clothes sometime.
