Has anyone been to the Eden Bay Resort in the Dominican Republic? It does look like a great place for naturists, since the policy is to get as nude as you can at all times. And, that does include the dining rooms. The property website is very good, but if anyone has a first hand (or, other body-part) experience with this resort I sure would like to hear it. Long way to travel for a bad place.

Kauai, I can very much recommend it. I posted some info on this website earlier and am reposting it here for your convenience:
I've had several friends visit and have made reservations to return while still there. A segment of the report:
Lounge in the beautiful serenity of aqua to sapphire blue waters, palm trees swaying in the breeze and sounds of waves lapping on the white sandy beach. Weather is great and the food and beverages are
something that you will never forget. Some of the planned activities included speed walks, yoga at Oceanside, pool games, volleyball and tennis and...
Theme parties just about every night. Treat yourselves to one of the most memorable experiences of your lives - come join in the fun!

You can make reservations using this link.

In addition to the resort, there are a multitude of things to do when staying at Eden Bay. Since your stay is limited to one week, I think you'll find at least one day spent enjoying a "decompression" period. If you don't allow for this, the transition from the hassle of everyday life to the calm serenity of Eden Bay may be too much. Once you've settled in you can enjoy a leisurely massage, a relaxing swim, an invigorating Kayak ride, scrumptious meals, delicious tropical drinks, etc., etc.

If however you'd like to experience the island, I suggest that you might want to ask your taxi driver who picks you up at the airport to divert a bit through Sosua and Cabarete on your trip from the airport to the resort. Sosua is a town founded in the '40s by German Jewish immigrants escaping Germany during W.W.II it is quite quaint and walking the streets of town is a pleasant experience. Sosua beach has many vendors selling their wares and some very good deals can be had there. Cabarete is a "younger" town and is popular with many young Europeans. It is also a highly respected windsurfing area and many bars line the beach where wind surfers and their audiences congregate.

There are excursions you can take from the resort to do snorkeling in Rio San Juan to jeep safaris, horseback riding, casinos, river rafting with waterfalls, etc. The mangrove and ocean cave tour out of Rio San Juan.

Enjoy it!
:) Cheri

My wife and I have stayed there. In fact that was her introduction to social nudity. The facilities are first rate. Management is great. Water was a little rough when we were there (February). Beach is small and only average. We stayed in one of the oceanside bungalows and listened to the surf. It was a great relaxation for me as I was coming off of a four months overseas project without any time off. The guests were very friendly and no one made my wife feel uncomfortable by staring or inappropriate behavior. She said she would go back.

I highly recommend it. At times you can stand up on the cliffs and watch the whales offshore.

Every day above ground is a good day.

Hi everyone: Although we can't comment on the resort, we will be making a week long trip there the beginning of May. We are looking forward to the trip and the information found in this topic only supports what we are hoping for, a great place to enjoy and relax nude. Maybe when we get back we can submit a report to help others. Anyone going there during this time let us know.

Hi everyone: Its a little late but we came back from Eden Bay on the 8th of May after one week there. We can not say enough about the place, "top notch" all the way. We were picked up at the airport by taxi the resort hired. He had gave us an introductory letter wherein the resort manager identified the driver and provided us with refreshments on our 1 1/2 hour trip to the resort.
We were met there by the manager, Patricia, and a couple cool rum punches, who took us on a tour of the resort. We stayed in one of the beachfront cottages which was outstanding. The grounds are so beautiful. We had excellent weather and the staff and service could not have been better. The food and drink were never ending not to say the quality was just great. It was such a treat for us to have been able to go there. We were reluctant to go at first because not many comments about the place could be located as it just reopened in Sept 03. But as it turned out it was one of the best choices we ever made and would not hesitate to return again. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. If you have any questions about Eden Bay, we are more than happy to answer them for you. You can e-mail us at Mousehse12@aol.com

lex1972,

You might do better by making your own travel arrangements. Go online and see what's available at any of the travel sites such as Expedia.com or Travelocity.

Tour operators, as far as I know, do not book Eden Bay. People such as myself do promote Eden Bay using a link that gives them credit(where the guest might have gotten the recommendation).

Best regards, Cheri

Hi Lex1972,

At least Internatuur, www.internatuur.nl , arranges tours to Eden Bay leaving from Amsterdam. Unfortunately their webpage is in Dutch but you can contact them by e-mail at info@internatuur.nl in English. They specialize in naturist trips. I hope they can be of help to you.
