I guess you guys could wear a dress or a kilt if you want. Just be careful sitting down. Men tend not to keep their legs together when they sit. Women tend to cross them.

These look interesting... They are actually denim. The thing I don't like is the price.

You guys are jealous that a woman can wear a dress without underwear and feel like she's nude, but you'd have to wear a silly looking kilt!

Actually, I am jealous that if I don't wear underwear, the "accepted" mode of dress is pants.

When my wife and I are at the beach, not a nudist beach, I wear a football jersey that is really large and it comes down to just above my knees, and needless to say, there is nothing.
Nobody knows, we will walk the beach have a ball.

being newely married and young an underwear is a must for me ( when I am part of the textile industry). The question does not arise otherwise.
My wife on the other hand has now started going with out it sometimes ( ie while going out). However during those days it is a must. However she complains of being concious when men stare hard at her in a fully clothed environment.

Cathy, Why do you say that a kilt looks silly? I think they are quite practical, and some of them are comfortable.. I personally think the Utilikilt line are made of too heavy a material, but the Amerikilt are more to my liking. And in many of the Pacific islands, the men routinely wear a garment that is something between a kilt and a sarong. Looks fine to them, and I would be reluctant to argue with most of the gents I met. My sulu from Fiji is light & airy, and feels almost nude, but works like a pool cover-up. ....Any group who can make a contest of how far one can toss a telephone pole ("caber") has my respect, and can wear what they want, if they want to wear anything.

Old Hippie,
For some reason, your post reminded me of Heinlein. Many of his books, men had migrated away from wearing pants and wore kilts....
Science Fiction, hmm..

. There are few things you could have said which I would take as higher compliment than to be compared to the Dean. There is a lot of good practical insight in much of RAH's work, even the more fanciful novels. But he always had a good, down-to-earth view of the place for social foibles. He is one of my favorite authors. .. There was a thread elsewhere in this forum about some of his views on nudity, and the uses he found for that in some of the novels. I think that Heinlein, more than almost any other modern author I know, exhibited an attitude which I first heard from a professor in a class on Chaucer: the prof explained that in pre-Puritan times manners could distinguish between "impolite" and "immoral". It was OK to be impolite, it just got frowned at by some; it was wrong to be immoral, and that got you punished by society. Heinlein was good at supposing societies which had different mores than ours, so that he could examine how ours worked. It was a fairly common theme for him to point out that so many things are only disapproved because we have agreed (tacitly) to call them so. . Anyway, thanks for the compliment. And watch for a kilt coming soon in your neighborhood.

It was very cold today and I wore underware today for the first time since last winter. I hate it, I was adjusting it all day.

We sometimes wear undies, and sometimes not....just depends (no pun intended).
