I feel that (for work, going out, sports, ...) I enjoy being costumed even more when I can enjoy being nude for a while before getting dressed. Then there is a different feeling putting on, say, a starched white shirt and buttoning the cuffs. Naturism makes that more fun too. :-) Do others feel that way?

I also like to get those clothes off after awhile, at least to change into something else if I can't be nude.

Many people seem to feel that need to change into different clothes. If they are dressed up, they want to get more comfortable. If they are comfy, they want to dress up and go out. I wonder if that restlessness in clothes is a repressed symptom of the need to sometimes get away from clothes all together and just be us, naturally.

Clothes are like work, something I have to do. I wear a uniform, this time of year I can wear shorts which makes up for all the layers I need in the winter. I try to do my errands after work. If I go to the store etc on my day off its shorts and a tanktop.

When I get out of the shower, I'm in no hurry to get dressed and when I do, I do it reluctantly. When I get undressed it's like removing a burden. It feels so refreshing.

As much as I love being nude, I do sometimes also like to dress up. I don't do it often, but for short bursts, it can be fun. My work uniform, on the other hand, ticks me off. I dread putting it on, and it comes off within a minute of getting home.

I think it's all part of the mix. I like taking off my clothes, but that doesn't mean that I dislike being clothed. Clothes serve lots of different purposes ... decoration, comfort, warmth, professionalism, comraderie, etc, etc.

As naturists, we may tend to disparage clothing, but it can be quite fun to look at clothing history in different cultures and add more diversity to our own. Anyone who has travelled a bit becomes aware, for instance, of how different "formal wear" can be interpreted depending on the country. Why not wear the tranparent white shirts of the Philippines for formal occasions? If our clothing choice spectrum is globally diverse, why not add nudity as one option for informal occasions?

It can be wonderously distruptive to be internationally eclectic in clothing. Imagine a mid-west American woman showing up at work in a sari or a man in a boubou. I think the more we mix it up when clothing is "required", the more we weaken dress code assumptions in general.

Some clothing can be particularly good conversational segues to discussions that break preconceptions. Try commenting how to you wish Fijian sulus were more popular in the West as men's office-wear. Or how Thai pakamas are perfect clothing for when you are going skinnydipping.

Because we are comfortably body aware and don't put on clothing without thinking about it, some of the best dressed people I know are naturists -- including when they are nude!

Oh no!! Can it be that everyone is going back to textilism? Such admiration for clothes!!

LOL Warmskin! I of course was arguing for the subversive use of unusual clothing as a precedent for nudity being recognized as merely a naturist "cultural choice" (rather than a "lifestyle").

The idea that clothes-free time is just a logical expression of the current global environmental back-to-nature culture seems to resonate quite positively, especially with younger folks. I've been getting agreeing nods when I argue that a few hours of clothes-free time a week helps keep life, materialism and our place nature in perspective. Choosing sometimes to be casually nude becomes a cool fashion symbol of changing cultural values, like driving a hybrid car.
