LOWC opens May 18th. And they've made a giant step into the 21st century. They are going to accept credit cards. Can't wait. In case anyone is interested, there has only been one case of swine flu in Indiana, about 100 miles away.

Hi Winteropal,
I have to say to anyone from the Chicagoland area or anywhere within 100 miles to go and spend a layback and relaxing day at LOWC. It's well worth the trip to go and unwind. The only problem I ever had was the ride home. I used to take the Skyway, up the Dan Ryan to the Eisenhower. (Chicago's espressways). Even at 8:00 p.m., the traffic was miserable.

It has been such a long winter here. It is 40 degrees tis morning. I saw that the pool people were getting the pool ready to open. It was like seeing a real sign of summer. I feel like a kid waiting for that first ice cream truck. Hope you Florida people have a wonderful summer too.

don't forget my mystery dinner in July if you find yourself with wonderlust.

I am in the west 'burbs. I avoid the Damn Ryan whenever possible. Even at 2am it can be a parking lot, not an expressway. Try a slightly wider loop, interstate 80/94 to the Tristate (294) to the Eisenhower. It will save about 20 to 30 minutes.

I am thinking of going to LOWC this year. First I gotta go thru another surgery and recover. They want to yank a lung because of cancer.

Good luck with your surgery. I don't think Chemo and sunshine go well together. But when it comes time to recover from recovering, you couldn't find a more naturally beautiful place.

Hi Homenudist,
I wish you the best success with your surgery. Winteropal is right. LOWC is a very natural, beautiful place. I think of it as my first nudist home.

I've tried that route. 80/94 to the tri-state. My last time was about 3 years ago. the 80/94 feeder ramp is about 10mi. long (seems that long), and construction every foot of the way. Once your on the Tri-state, there are tolls which hold you up. And once you pass all that, you come upon the Hillside strangler. Four lanes of traffic going 5m.p.h into one lane to get onto the Eisenhower, which is another parking lot.

I quit playing my favorite sport (golf) because of the drive into the city. It doesn't matter what direction, which route, or what time of day it is. There's just no easy way. It's one of the main reasons I moved to a small town in Florida.(I won't even start with Chicago winters).

Thanks for the good wishes, it is tentatively set for a week from Thursday.

I know all about the Hillside Strangler, that is about half a mile from me. Before this cancer thing got in the way I was looking for a place in Indiana, preferably someplace rural near LOWC. Maybe after I recover I can start looking again.
