I'm an early twenties, some-what attractive English male and today spent my first time on a nude beach today.

The beach was part of a larger clothing-required beach, but was segregated by a large stone embankment. Anyway the day before I'd seen it and thought 'Why not? Can't knock it 'till you've tried it. Get a bit of all over sunning'

So today at about noon I get to the beach in shirt and shorts. Absoultely terrified by this point I laid the towel, stipped off and sprayed up a bit. I'd brought a book to keep me distracted although I was slightly perplexed at how normal it all was. I was naked, and nobody cared! I immediately began feel disgust at the people who were walking through fully clothed to sneak a peek instead of walking around the embankment. One other thing I also noticed was the age/gender misbalance. Maybe I just wasn't at the right place but the place was majoritively composed of males aged 30 and above. I was pretty certain I was the youngest there.

Anyway, through a combination of nerves and being surrounded by naked people a certain organ began to stir. Of course I lay on my stomach, but it would not go away. It wasn't completely erect, but the sort of semi variety that, when lying on your back, it lays to rest facing upwards towards your stomach, instead of down towards the feet. After a while lying on my front I gave up the hope it would go away I turned over with it lying on my stomach, hoping nobody would complain. I just stuck to my book and ignored it and it did subside somewhat. Did I do the right thing there? I mean, at least I wasn't flaunting it and hopefully it wpon't occur if I visit again.

On that note, I'm not entirely sure if it's my cup of tea. It may have just been the nerves of the concept, but once I was doing it I was pretty much fine. In future though I would like to take somebody with my instead of going on my own because I found the most comfort and relief was had when talking to others.

So in the end I think it's a case of if it's available I'll do it, as I don't see much point in getting tanlines and wet swimwear, but I don't think I could subscribe to full time nudism.

Welcome, Larry! First, let tell you that everything you felt and did was completely natural. You did nothing wrong, as far as I could tell. The arousal came from a new situation and natural physical responses. These responses will simmer down with more exposure.
Keep researching on those issues and concerns regarding the age disparity and wandering textiles. Hopefully, this will not be your last venture into a clothesfree setting. There really are no excuses for soggy swimwear and tanlines.

Good luck!

Like I say I don't think the living nude lifestyle is for me, but I'm quite happy nude sunbathing.

On the age disparity note, I did notice that most of the population were men aged above 30ish (estimated by looking). I was easily the youngest person within eye shot. Not made any more comfortable by the one guy who would NOT look away while I prepared to take my swimshorts off! I'm thinking 'do you like me or something, or are you reminded of past times?' Either way when my front was on show I bent my leg so he couldn't see...

I know there is plenty of things for kids and young teens to do, what with the 'family friendly' side of things, but there's a real drought in the young adult's front...

I don't think you should be discouraged because there's nothing to do or there's no other young adults. If everyone thought like that, of course there would be none. We are a couple of young adults, 20 and 23. We would love to have more our age involved. But if like you are saying they are just discouraged because of a lack of people our age, the demographic will never grow.

Bring some buddies or g/f if available. Having someone to relate to makes it much better, trust me. Bring an MP3 player, Ipod, etc.

As for the erection, you are 19, and have plenty of hormones, so it's natural to have erections. When you get older, you will look fondly back on these days of youth and your erection "problem."

I have plenty of mind games that make erections go away. If you have a great imagination, you can create emotional and mental scenes that let you get away from erections.

I got an erection in 2008 at a nude beach. I wasn't used to being nude at a beach. I got rid of the erection by thinking of unpleasurable ideas and feelings by mental imagery.

Repetition of going to a nude beach makes the experience more routine, and thus not a novel experience that is was on the first time.

The best thing you can do is bring someone along with you. The trick is to find someone who is willing to try being nude at a beach. Perhaps that is easier for younger friends than it is for older people, especially if they are quite set in their ways.
