If you've never been there's a great hot springs about 2 hours from Phoenix. It's not officially clothing optional but if you go there don't expect to see many textiles. If you'd like directions feel free to email me.

From TNS's World Guide directions to Verde Hot springs:
I-17 to about 80 miles north of Phoenix & Camp Verde turnoff. Forest Service station can advise on road &river conditions. Last source of supplies. follow turnoff east 3 or 4 miles to Camp Verde. From Camp Verde, take State Road 260 east 4.7 miles & go Right on gravel Forest Road 708 for 13.7 miles. Bear right on FR 502 and go 7 miles to the end. Park or camp here and hike one mile + upstream crossing river to the old bathhouse.

Here's some more in-depth directions...

FROM PHOENIX:
Go north on I-17 to Camp Verde exit 287, go east on AZ 260 out of
town. About 10 miles from the freeway onramp you'll be going uphill,
look for a brown forest service sign directing you to the Verde River
and Childs Power Plant. This is a right turn if you're east bound,
follow this dirt road for about 16 miles till you come to another
dirt road that only goes right, there is another sign there directing
you to the Verde and Childs Power Plant, go right there and follow it
another 6 miles up a steep hill then down a steeper hill till the
road ends in a campground on the Verde River. Be brave go thru the
cattle guard down to the river. You may find people there to direct
you to the tubs, if not, cross the Verde on foot, you must walk the
last mile. Cross the river at the campground go upstream soon you
will notice a well followed trail. about 3/4 of a mile the trail
takes you back into the river cross again, you can see the trail
continuing on the other side. This puts you on an island in the
river. Follow the trail thru the mesquite trees soon you'll see a
small pile of rocks on the left side of the trail that is cemented
together, pass this to another pile of rocks not cemented, go left
there and back to the river bank. The bank is steep and leads back
into the river. From here you will be looking at the tubs. Cross the
river and you're there.

We went to Verde hot springs a few months back. First of all it is a lot of driving on unpaved road that will want you to turn around and go back. We were in a family SUV that might have something to do with it too. Finally we reached at the Child's power campground. Got directions from a few folks camping there. It's about 15 minutes walk from the campground till river crossing. We met a gentleman on the way who was headed to the springs and he mentioned that drugs and other illegal activities were regular at the campground and the hot springs. He carried a gun just in case! We reached the springs, took a quick soak. Did not want to get out of clothes after what we heard and in few minutes headed back. Here is my piece of advice, if you want to go try to reach by noon and good to have a group of your own.

It's great to have updated info on "any" place that members visit. As you can see, the original posts were over 9 yrs old and like anything, over time, things change. Thanks for the updated info on this spot.

Loves being naked. Plays well with others!
