Posted - 03/01/2009 : 01:26:50 AM There are alot of clothing-optional resorts out there and I get really annoyed with people that come in who have on shorts and tees while the rest of us are nude. Does anyone know of any resorts where people like this can't come in. |

Posted - 04/22/2014 : 6:59:48 PM The beach at Benalnatura, Torrequebrada, Malaga, Spain is operated by a small society which you can join if you wish; not required for beach use. http://benalnatura.com/ The beach has a cafe and they will not serve you if you wear more than a hat and sandals. You must of course have your towel to sit on. The beach is usually crowded and nude-only by policy and conventional custom. I have read that people have been driven off for lack of nudity. The first time I went there as a newby I found that encouraging - it was all or nothing, so to speak. Ironically, the cafe staff are fully clothed . . .

Posted - 04/21/2014 : 10:30:36 PM We have visited MANY clubs and resorts in the last 17+ yrs of our venture into social nudism. What we've found is that ... even though a club or resort is "nude", they adopt a clothing optional mentality.
Before we get off in a direction ALL these threads go when we speak of "nude vs clothing optional", we are not speaking of weather constraints, female issues or situations, medical reasons ... this is about the plain and simple ability to be naked when able and appropriate and from our experience, it seems as though some nudists get tired of being nude and put on clothes. Not sure why, don't care why but it just seems strange that one would live in a nudist environment and wear clothes more than they are naked and there's really no reason to be clothed.
We've visited one local club and on their website, it states "clothing optional" but it's the only club in the area where the "nude when possible, clothed when practical" policy is enforced. I witnessed first hand the owner tell a woman that was there with her husband to either disrobe or she'd have to leave. He had taken part in an event and she was allowed to come in, watch and stay for the award ceremony but after it was over, the owner of the club approached her with that ultimatum.
There were no applause, no cheers BUT ... many of the nudists went up to him and said, "thanks. we wish more owners and managers would do the same." She was allowed to enter, visit, mingle and be a part of this event and remain clothed for over 2 hours. If she was not going to undress after that amount of time and she was the ONLY one dressed at this entire event ... then she was not going to and she was not going to change her mind given any more time. She seemed relieved that the owner told her she had to leave.
Nude resorts seem to have different policies for different people. Guests are held to one standard ... "naked or leave," members/frequent visiting members to ... "they are fine, they are always naked, something must be up for them to wear clothes," and residents ... "they can do whatever they want." Because of this ... many nude resorts actually become clothing optional because of the lack of enforcement.
It is what it is and if you're a guest, member or even a resident, you go with the flow because it isn't YOUR club/resort.

Posted - 04/21/2014 : 8:14:04 PM In the middle of last year, my wife suggested we visit a nude beach resort. Not wasting any time, I booked a week at Club Orient. We are not new to social nudity. In the early years of our marriage we were stationed in Germany and through a German friend were introduced to a co-ed pool and sauna. Four of us went every Friday night and for three hours had fun in the nude. My wife has repeatedly said she likes being naked, but until last year, was reluctant to try it socially again because, in her opinion, "Americans don't handle nudity well". I never asked what made her change her mind, but off we went to Club Orient in January. I think I was more apprehensive on the plane than she was because I was her protector and didn't want anything bad to happen to her. My fears were unfounded. We checked in, got naked and stayed that way for 7 days. The only problem she had with being nude was when she was in the minority of nude females. This happened at the restaurant a couple nights. Fortunately, once dancing started, clothing came off, including the little wrap she wore around her waist. Had everyone been nude from the beginning, she would have been more comfortable being nude. We will return to Club O and I'm relatively certain that next trip she will be nude from the beginning. That trip was the best vacation we've ever had. I'm now looking for an eastern US resort that requires nudity everywhere on the premises. (Clothing optional is not an option for us.) After all, people go to a nude resort to enjoy nudity and after a very brief orientation, everyone should be nude. |

They don't infringe on our Rights, like they did many years ago, it was considered crimminal or worse . Enjoying our freedom is our right and theirs also.

Posted - 01/04/2012 : 1:20:30 PM Hi there. I and my wife are interested in nudism. We are new - we go around nude at home sometimes. We would like to go to a nudist/naturist beach for a holiday later in 2012. We're both mid 40s, and average build, maybe getting a bit on the large size. Ideally, we're looking for a resort with accommodation and where nudism is the norm. If we had the option to stay dressed, we may be tempted to do so! Ideally, we'd like the others to be couples, between 30 and 60. Ideally, we're looking for Europe, if there was somewhere suitable and tolerant of beginners. If there was somebody in the UK that we could correspond with in advance, that would be really great, but all replies will be answered. |

Posted - 01/02/2012 : 02:51:43 AM A resort that is "only" a nudist resort? Hmmm, that would be more than sufficient for me.
I can understand that some folks might feel uncomfortable clothed people around. That happened to me once, on a Sierra Nevada river, known for skinnydippers. I sat on a tiny beach at that river (sand is where you find it), in the nude, and a family walked past another nude guy in the waterhole above me, and then proceded to sit on the bank opposite from me. The mom did look at me - I noticed when our eyes met, but I was a well-mannered guy, and not a rowdy type at all. A gust of wind blew my small umbrella into the river, and the family's two young boys in the water fetched the umbrella for me.
They were nice people, and stayed on the opposite side of the river for quite a spell. It was not a wide river, at all, but deep. I guess they were quite tolerant of me, and I was grateful for that.
Later a couple who appeared to be around their late 50s showed up, and take a place just about 15 feet downstream from me. They were clothed at first, but were likely inspired with my nudity, and they took all their clothes off and waded into the cold river. We got into a friendly conversation (mark that well, large nudist resorts!), which made the rest of the day more enjoyable.
Out in nature with tolerant people, I have no problem being nude when other people are clothed. I'd probably be that way at a nudist resort, too, but I have rarely encountered that situation.

Posted - 12/30/2011 : 12:13:25 PM I have no problem with either full nude or CO as my clothes are off as soon as possible. I understand the "CO, but nude only in pool or spa" concept, but it would be nice if every area was truely CO. My wife will go to the beach with me as there she can sun and swim with her swimsuit on. I would like for her to attend a resort with me, but I would feel bad that on a hot day she could not go in the pool to cool off...as she would never get nude to do so. |

Posted - 08/04/2009 : 7:33:24 PM Both Blue Lake Resort in northwest Illinois and Carolina Foothills in North Carolina require nudity, except for cold weather periods and menstruating women who choose to wear something.
Go to the web sites of those resorts and check their links, they might lead to resorts with similar rules. |

Posted - 07/09/2009 : 5:55:29 PM Ok, I'm eating a humble pie....would anyone care for a piece?? {:>))
I'm married and been a lone nudist for two and a half years. I have always longed for my gorgeous wife to accompany me. She has had "0" interest in nudism, and we have had a few arguments over the subject. She is very supportive of my nudism, and even was the one that encouraged me to join AANR. I really backed off, and just accepted that she would never be by my side at a beach or nudist resort.
Well....she really surprised me last week, and said..."next time you go to that nude beach, I wanna go with you, I think it would be relaxing!" Then two days ago, she said..."I want to go this weekend....Sunday!" She said.."I may only get topless, I'm not sure, and it depends on the temperature."
I told her, I am sooooooo happy that you and I will be together....just take your time, and be comfortable!!!
Yes dear readers.....this is "fullmonte" speaking...the hard nosed nudist that thinks everyone should be required to be naked within one hour at a nudist gathering. Now, my own wife decides to go with me if she can take it slow!!! Holy S*** did that hit home, of how important it is to allow people there own bounderies for nudism!!!
I could have just shut up and none of you would have ever known...but hey....I can admit when I'm wrong....in this case...I'LL HAPPILY ADMIT IT! Take Care, Stay Bare (a little bit more tollerant and open minded) fullmonte {:>)) |

Not really. I don't know of even one nudist place in the usa that requires and enforces nudity on all present at all times.

On one's way to work, returning from work, sunburn, skin cancer, illness, doing something dangerous or very dirty, decoration as at dances and parties, injury prevention during sports, snow, cold rain, cold air, plus a host of other reasons I'll leave for you to list.
quote: simple, there are many who just want to come and GAWK and I find that so terribly rude.
A lot of newbies think everyone wants to stare at them. Many newbies are gawkers themselves. They think being nude themselves gives them the right to stare at others. They become irate if they're nude and someone else isn't.
quote: At least at a NUDE resort, the rule is NUDE or LEAVE as it should be.
That's not the case at any nudist place I know of. The "rule" always has so many exceptions that it's not a rule at all. In addition, enforcement is always lax.
quote: I find those who want to come and just gawk and look while still clothed very irritating to me.
Your irritation pains me greatly. Please relieve my pain. To do that, you must stop being so easily irritated.
