Posted - 06/01/2009 : 8:45:35 PM Is anyone on here going to be participating in this event July 11th. It's being done through AANR (more info on their site) and a lot of clubs throughout the U.S. This would be my first socially nude experience so I figure if I am going to do it I might as well get in the Guinness book of world records at the same time.
I would like to go but I am having knee surgery June 29th and depending on what all is done I may or may not be able to drive yet. Even if I can't get my knee wet yet as long as I can drive I want to go.
If I can go I would be going to lake como. Who plans on going and where?

Posted - 01/10/2015 : 11:21:36 PM We are going to give lots more people the opportunity to participate in the Skinny Dip this year! Several of our C/O B&B's in AZ, CA, FL, LA and OR will be host facilities for the 2015 AANR Skinny Dip! I'll post the locations and how you can register to attend when we get a little closer to the date...July 11th.
Enjoy the sunshine!

Posted - 01/10/2015 : 9:15:07 PM I'm ready for the 2015 event in July...how about everyone else? Even though I may be ready, I won't be able to attend. My son is getting married around that time, so I'll be dipping shrimp rather than skinny dipping. |

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 01:18:52 AM Thanks Fire... some day we all will get together.
We have met a few other nudist couples here in the area so we will probably keep it local. Hoping Cherokee Lodge will be participating so we all can go as a group, cause if we have a group of 10 we get a 20% discount.

Posted - 11/03/2012 : 8:37:20 PM IF ... AANR does follow through with this again ... we will undoubtedly go back to the Terra Cotta Inn, in Palm Springs, to partake and be counted. We partook in the first two at TCI and don't want to miss out doing that this time.
WE could go to our club and participate but TCI is a bit more intimate and hopefully we'll stay the weekend of the Skinny Dip record attempt. But it would be great to partake wherever Diger and the Mrs. are going to be ... but probably won't happen. No $$$ for travel.
Loves being naked. Plays well with others! |

Posted - 11/03/2012 : 7:46:04 PM Great idea Diger. I'm thinking White Tail since I just moved to VA. I haven't been there yet, so I'm looking forward to checking it out. |

Posted - 03/15/2012 : 10:57:34 AM Got this from the AANR newsletter in my e-mail today. Looks like they will be hosting the following instead of the Skinny Dip:
Plans are moving along for the AANR Amazing Canvas Nudist Face and Body Painting Event, to be held at AANR clubs, resorts and member parties across North America. The event will be held on Saturday, July 14, to coincide with Nude Recreation Week.
A downloadable PDF of details, rules, deadlines, and tips is available on the body painting page of AANR.com.
As list of locations will soon appear on the AANR website as they become available. Sign up today by emailing Carolyn Hawkins at pubaffairs@aanr.com or Lynn Von Hagel at eleccomm@aanr.com. |

Posted - 03/09/2012 : 09:30:53 AM You are right in that more people are open minded about naturism. Polls show that the numbers are growing of people that say they would take a nakation. Any events that can be sponsored by AANR, TNS, etc...help to make it more mainstream. The more people realize that casual nudity is OK...the better. I haven't gone to a Y or gym in a while, but when I have gone, it amazes me that I have seen men take a shower with their swimsuit on or walk to and from the shower with a towel wrapped around themselves. I have even seen it taken to the point that someone was putting on their underwear while still having the towel wrapped around them. Yes...swimsuits should be rinsed out after swimming in chlorine, but I've done so with it in my hands and then hung it on something to finish showering. I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, but changing rooms are "clothing optional" areas. If someone feels more comfortable wrapped in a towel...fine. I don't have a problem with that. But, if someone like me wants to walk to and from the shower with the towel in my hands...go for it. I see it as my little way to promote casual nudity. |

Posted - 03/08/2012 : 10:54:03 AM I think ymca in general and its users are more open minded to nudism than others. I took a tour of one once years ago i was taken by a female staff member she showed me around even walked me into the mens locker room and i was shocked to see someone walking from shower full nude and he didnt mind she was there and she didnt seem to care either. |

Posted - 03/08/2012 : 10:50:32 AM That would be a great thing to go back to. That would indeed be more mainstream if the local YMCA's were involved. I don't know when the YMCA's stopped allowing skinny dipping but it may have been when the YMCA was for men and the women had the YWCA. If AANR would just have the World Record Skinny Dip EVERY year...awareness would keep growing. They sponsored the Hoola Hoop thing last year, and I don't know how well it did attendence wise, but I would think that the lure for first timers would be skinny dipping, rather than some other kind of event. |

Posted - 03/08/2012 : 10:35:42 AM I just mean more rather than the local AANR clubs renting them just the AANR itself as a whole reaching out to cities and asking for permission to sponsor a c/o swim night for local nudists in the area. Kind of back to what I heard was normal at the ymca in the past. |

Posted - 03/08/2012 : 09:34:47 AM Hi Reno, Check out "The Bulletin" from AANR. Many clubs do this twice a month...rent out local facilities for nude swims, yoga, exercise, etc...depending on the facility they can rent. |

Posted - 03/08/2012 : 09:28:01 AM I think AANR should be more active in contacting various cities all over to get permission to hold weekly clothing optional swims like at a indoor facility pool 1 night a week after 8pm until 12a entry cost is $10 which would be twice normal day fee. We can't get nudism to be more mainstream and accepted by just sitting on our nude asses in secret.. |
