Posted - 09/30/2007 : 12:20:23 PM After our visit to Cypress Cove later this month, my wife and I have the opportunity to visit a Tampa/Land O' Lakes area resort. Of the several in the area, which would you recommend and why? Definitely a family oriented experience required. |

Posted - 12/29/2011 : 7:18:46 PM See that this thread has not been active for a few years; time to update :) We have booked into the - - Resort in Tampa (actually Land O Lakes)for the week march 4 to 11, 2012. Looks like a very nice resort, choice of hotel or homes; full clothing optional community and all the facilities are as well, ie restaurants, bars, clubs and other services. Will report back on the experience :)

Through we've had differences with AANR's back room politics, we fear for their future, which is greatly dependent on the revenue from the larger resorts.
Just for the record, the family friendly resorts in the Tampa area include Lake Como Resort and Gulf Coast Resort, just to mention the major ones. Please support them.

Posted - 08/23/2009 : 06:51:03 AM We were at PL in June, saw the owner a couple of times.....strange, he didnt/wouldnt make eye contact, speak, etc....didnt seem very interested to engage his guests (the four of us were spending $500+ a day between the bar, the boutique, massages, etc).....anyway, a member of PL wrote me last week and said he 'thought' the owner was going to redo the old section of PL and turn it into a 'private' resort within a resort (catering to swingers was what he implied)....true or false, thats just was he 'heard' around the place (hes there most weekends)....who knows....B |

Talking to friends at Paradise I knew this was in the pipeline for sometime. It seems in order to compete with the other resort owner John Forier has chosen to go the erotic route.

Posted - 08/17/2009 : 9:30:24 PM What the heck happened? What about all that peaceful coexistence stuff? I guess the policy of no funny business before 9:00 p.m. is a thing of the past. All the septuagenarians playing tennis will be quite the backdrop for the aforementioned picnic. |

Posted - 08/17/2009 : 12:24:20 PM So much has changed in the last year that it's hard to see anything left of the nudist ethic at this establishment.
Have a look at the calendar, particularly the October events. The Porn Star Picnic is just the tip of the iceberg for this former nudist resort now styling itself as the "ultimate lifestyle destination".
Please-- for those itching to share the juicy details with everyone, either hold your tongue or post it in some other forum. To post it here you're only providing free advertising.
Nudist-Resorts.Org is a website about nudist resorts and places respecting the nudist ethic. Anything else is off topic. However, very open minded people may still enjoy this destination. |

Posted - 08/16/2009 : 10:33:39 PM I haven't visited this website in awhile but did anyone suddenly see a mushroom cloud north of the Ehren Cutoff in Land O' Lakes Florida or what? Did XXX set a Faber College record for the number of amorous couples in the conversation pool after midnight? What happened?
All I know is that XXX was banished from this website while I was watching Tiger Woods get his butt kicked at the PGA Championship. Would someone tell us why XXX is suddenly persona non grata?

Posted - 08/15/2009 : 12:03:10 AM We have all but thrown our hands up at - -. Beautiful Resort, don't get me wrong, but who wants to get into the pool when you see 15-20 couples having sex in it after the parties that they hold on Saturday's? Staff completely ignores this activity.
Granted, there are no children around (thank God) but I don't want to swim in it. We just heard the pool referred to as the DNA pool. Gross!
We have never been to Como or Paradise, but are willing to give them a shot if they are more Naturist friendly instead of SEX friendly.

Posted - 04/21/2009 : 12:15:20 AM I have requested visits at Lake Como as an AANR member on more than one occassion and have been denied. Reason according to the management: they wont allow my Commercial Vehicle on their property. I've explained that I would be leaving the trailer elsewhere and would only be 35'long.
I happen to own a quarter million dollar custom tractor that I make my living with. The living quarters are simular to a high scaled motorhome and is fully self contained including a full kitchen, bathroom, shower and more, all in 14.5' of living space. The rig is a 2007 model and looks brand new. I provided photos of it to their management, yet still denied access with it. I was told I would have to rent one of their rooms and bring a different vehicle if I wished to come to their resort.
I find it rather interesting that they would refuse access of my rig considering some of the junk trailers, etc I saw in this resort when the wife and I stopped in for a quick tour. Don't get me wrong as I can understand them not wanting to allow your typical company owned tractor with nothing more than a bed in the sleeper. I think my rig in no way would detract from any image they are trying to portray. At many of the textile campgrounds and resorts we have been to, other guest parade past asking for tours and permission to take photos of our tractor!
Its ashamed that they choose to force one to rent one of their rooms when one has his/her own accomadations that would be far more comfortable. This very well could have been a location I could have come to enjoy and invested in, if only allowed to try it out in my own accommadations rather than theirs. I will take the revenue I generate to a location that welcomes myself and my own accomadations. Thankfully their neighbors seem to be more willing to work with their guest.

Rick, when you come to Metro Tampa in June 2009, you'll love Lake Como. Tell you what, though, also try - -? Why?
Because, both resorts are literally abutting the same lake, Como Lake which is what the lake itself is actually called (The REAL Lake Como (body of water) is in Italy!), and their entrances are nearly within walking distance of one another. If you know where to look through the trees, you can just about see one resort from the other.
Since you've traveled a way to get here, why not check BOTH of them out? You'll be glad you did.
Finally, - - is just 4.3 miles from both Lake Como and - - just due north on Highway 41. What the heck, go there too!
Man, you MUST check out - -! Just my opinion. Do what YOU want to do! Have fun, and good luck!
Peace. |

GREAT that you've been there, you two! Memorial Day Weekend is just awesome there, for sure. Been to three of those!
Truthfully, any big holiday weekend at - - is great. Only got to - - just twice in 2008, but before that from 2005-2007 went about 40+ times. Personally, I think it peaked in 2005, but it's still "The Ultimate" in the C.O. Scene in the USA. World-wide, I'd have to give it to Le Cap d'Agde in Languedoc, Southern France.
Anyway, it would be great to meet you at - -. My wife is FINALLY on-board and is eager to go this year, so I'll be there a lot in 2009, God willing. Hope to see ya there.
Peace to you all. |
