capecodjack: "I hope I'm using the right thread here but I'm trying to get some info on Edun Lake in Naples, FL. Up here in the Northeast places are shutting down for the winter. We may spend time in Naples this winter and I've heard and read about Edun Lake but my search engines show a web site but can't connect to it." |

Posted - 12/11/2013 : 06:11:04 AM I used to deliver in Fort Meyers and Naples, for Smith Specialty, back in 1977-78. I also worked out of the Trailways terminal in '79 or '80, wish I knew about Edun Lake back then.
I covered lots of ground in Florida between Smith and Trailways...even though I was close to some of the resorts, I never did find them. I wish we had the internet back then, it would've been a lot different.

Posted - 12/07/2013 : 12:10:37 PM We loved Edun Lake, convinced us that nudism is for us. We are planning on moving to the Fort Myers area late next year and plan on joining Edun Lake. |

Posted - 01/01/2013 : 09:25:57 AM Planning on visiting Edun Lake the end of this month. Sent them an email last week and got a very nice reply. This will be our first nudist resort experience. Can't wait! |

Posted - 10/06/2011 : 12:47:58 PM Resorts that are nude-only / weather permitting are also the best for us. Why be clothed at a nudist resort? Have not been able to "wrap my towel around that".
For about 13 years the resort we have attended the most frequently has grown steadily in its number of members and visitors.
We have been approached improperly at this family oriented resort twice in all of those years. Both times we "kept an eye" on the offender. Each time the offender(s) got the boot after approaching yet another couple, and are banned from ever visiting again.
Another person and his family were booted out due to his excessive consumption of beer, which had reduced him to a loud cursing drunk.
We have also seen an individual required to turn around and leave as soon as he attempted to check in at the office, due to his background check or name on a "not to be admitted" list. The background checks provide a layer of safety.
These are examples of why we feel safe at our favorite nude-only nudist resort.
We have seen people attend special events like a nudist art show or car show where they can remain clothed as visitors during the show. They have then become nudists after the show as a result of seeing how relaxed we nudists were all day.
Our favorites when close to home or when traveling are White Tail Resort/VA, Cedar Creek Park/SC, and Serendipity Park/GA. We have been to many nudist resorts. We have not yet been to Edun Lake in Naples, FL.

Posted - 03/12/2011 : 6:27:04 PM I know Edun Lake is still there. I have not been there yet though. They are under new management. I am glad "Admin" is deleting resorts that advertise as Swinger or "Lifestyle" friendly. Although, unfortunately, at many non "lifestyle" friendly places, I have been approached inappropriately. Three places I have not been approached inappropriately are Lake Como (FL), Full Tan Sun Club (near Albany, NY) and White Tail Resort in VA. I stay away from "Clothing Optional". Places with strict nudity rules do not seem to attract the "Lifestyle" element. If the the sign says "Clothing Optional", I go the other way. If the sign says nudity required, weather permitting, I'm there. iNude |

Posted - 01/25/2009 : 9:17:00 PM Well, today I took a friend (her first time EVER in a nude social setting) to Edun Lake, after calling ahead to find out where it was and if they allowed visitors :) We dallied around, and ended up not getting there until about 3:30pm (and it's all of 15 minutes from my house!) Well, to say we were enthusiastically welcomed would be an understatement! They seemed genuinely pleased that we were there, even encouraging us to camp for the night and walk around and explore the place! :)
First of all, the facility is first-class. Very clean new-looking pool at a comfortable temperature, plenty of lounge chairs, and a large, airy pavilion type building next to the pool. The grounds were very clean and well maintained with several RVs and a large well mowed area next to the lake, which was where we were told we could set up our tents (both having to work tomorrow, we chose just to lounge by the pool for a few hours). There were about 30-40 people around the pool, all of them talking and laughing and just seeming to have a great time. We noticed some sort of beanbag-tossing game off in the grassy area, but she, being a LITTLE shy, wanted to just stay put on our chairs :) The common area seemed to be comprised of just an office/lending library/pool area, the rest of the grounds being for camping. I'll admit, we didn't look around much, though.
We both felt very comfortable and relaxed, and she's enthusiastic about going back when we're going to just have to find something to do for an afternoon. We'll probably do any camping over at Sunsport Gardens in Loxahatchee or - -, as there is a hot-tub, wi-fi, and clubhouse where we can play Rummicube or just hang out if it's too chilly to lounge by the pool.
Anyway, if you're in the Naples area, looking for a friendly and social place to get some sun and relax, I don't think you'll be disappointed here! :)
Just to remark: I've been traveling all over south and central florida for the last 6-8 weeks going to different clubs to camp out, not knowing that Edun Lake was right next door. Evidently, the business generated from their advertisement in the AANR bulletin is sufficient exposure (no pun intended ) for them. Very nice people and a nice facility!

There are 10 kind of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't.
Edited by - Admin to remove the name of a resort which now openly advertises itself as "lifestyle friendly". |

There is an area that Sanibel Naturists here in FL use. You would have to contact them for exact location(s). Teva |

Posted - 01/02/2009 : 08:55:07 AM Edun Lake is alive and well in Naples. They haven't had the time lately to maintain the web site, so if you need to contact them call Mary at the number listed above.
It is a small operation compared to - - or - -, but it's very nice. They have a decent sized pool and deck area. The folks who go there are very friendly. We are members and it is one of our favorite spots. |
