Question about Edun Lake in Naples, FL
Forum Member capecodjack asked this in another thread, and it was moved here:

capecodjack:
"I hope I'm using the right thread here but I'm trying to get some info on Edun Lake in Naples, FL. Up here in the Northeast places are shutting down for the winter. We may spend time in Naples this winter and I've heard and read about Edun Lake but my search engines show a web site but can't connect to it."

I was able to find the email address for Edun Lake after doing a fair bit of Google searching. Here is the information they provided.

Thank you for inquiring about Edun Lake. Edun Lake is a family oriented day club affiliated with AANR.
Members meet on our gated 20 acres and at this time we have: a 2-acre lake, 20x40 heated pool, over 3000sq.ft. of deck; 30x40 pavilion with ice machine, stove, refrigerator and microwave, an additional deck with fireplace; our second building has bathrooms and an office. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages as we do not offer any food service. We offer limited camping; please inquire if interested.
The second Sunday of each month is set-aside for our potluck lunch and for sports fans we have 3 TVs. Additional parties, potlucks, and special happenings are listed on our website.

Open 7 days a week from 9am to 7pm, members of AANR/TNS or visitors pay a per visit grounds fee ($15.00 per person, $28.00 per couple) non members pay ($18.00 per person, $35.00 per couple), while full members have unlimited access for yearly fee. First time visitors are asked to fill out a visitor form at the office and provide identification. Local visitors are allowed two visits before AANR/TNS membership is required. Membership through Edun Lake is available at a discount.

Please visit our website for photos and more information: www.Edunlake.com

Directions: The gate code changes the first of each month please email for the current code when you intend to visit.

Coming from Ft. Myers/Bonita Springs: go south on I-75 to exit 111 (old 17) Immokalee Rd. Turn left (east) and continue on Immokalee for 6 miles, once you pass the intersection of CR951 (Collier Blvd) it is 3 miles . Look for the streets on your right, they fall as: Richards, Krape, Rivers, Moulder...Turn right (south) on Moulder Drive. If you get to Twin Eagles country club you have gone too far.
Moulder is a dirt road so turn in easy and we are 1/2 mile down on the right (west). You will see pink pillars with the letters E L . The address is 2061.

I was getting a 403 Forbidden server error on that website.

Here is a copy of the Edun Lake website from the Wayback Machine's February 2008 scan of the site.

You may have to paste it into your address bar to get there. The link breaks on this forum software.

I just moved from Naples (a move of about 12 miles :) ) and was never able to find anything out about this facility. I believe it died in the planning stages. At one point, I did get an email from someone who'd been there when it was just an empty field, but that was the only "living" person I communicated with. We do need something down here though! I currently drive up to Pasco County (- -, Lake Como, Gulf Coast Resort, - -, etc...) but have decided to see some other clubs around the state. Cypress Cove is my favorite, but I don't think they allow tent camping :( I was a member there several years ago...

No...they are still there. It is a very very very small place though. No amenities or anything...just a hangout place. I talked to the owner in October and the provided the information above.

AdamInFl...I was at Cypress Cove at the end of October and it appeared that there was public camping available right on the lake next to the restaurant. It looked like quite a nice spot.

Edun Lake is alive and well in Naples. They haven't had the time lately to maintain the web site, so if you need to contact them call Mary at the number listed above.

It is a small operation compared to - - or - -, but it's very nice. They have a decent sized pool and deck area. The folks who go there are very friendly. We are members and it is one of our favorite spots.

There is an area that Sanibel Naturists here in FL use. You would have to contact them for exact location(s).

Well, today I took a friend (her first time EVER in a nude social setting) to Edun Lake, after calling ahead to find out where it was and if they allowed visitors :) We dallied around, and ended up not getting there until about 3:30pm (and it's all of 15 minutes from my house!) Well, to say we were enthusiastically welcomed would be an understatement! They seemed genuinely pleased that we were there, even encouraging us to camp for the night and walk around and explore the place! :)

First of all, the facility is first-class. Very clean new-looking pool at a comfortable temperature, plenty of lounge chairs, and a large, airy pavilion type building next to the pool. The grounds were very clean and well maintained with several RVs and a large well mowed area next to the lake, which was where we were told we could set up our tents (both having to work tomorrow, we chose just to lounge by the pool for a few hours). There were about 30-40 people around the pool, all of them talking and laughing and just seeming to have a great time. We noticed some sort of beanbag-tossing game off in the grassy area, but she, being a LITTLE shy, wanted to just stay put on our chairs :) The common area seemed to be comprised of just an office/lending library/pool area, the rest of the grounds being for camping. I'll admit, we didn't look around much, though.

We both felt very comfortable and relaxed, and she's enthusiastic about going back when we're going to just have to find something to do for an afternoon. We'll probably do any camping over at Sunsport Gardens in Loxahatchee or - -, as there is a hot-tub, wi-fi, and clubhouse where we can play Rummicube or just hang out if it's too chilly to lounge by the pool.

Anyway, if you're in the Naples area, looking for a friendly and social place to get some sun and relax, I don't think you'll be disappointed here! :)

Just to remark: I've been traveling all over south and central florida for the last 6-8 weeks going to different clubs to camp out, not knowing that Edun Lake was right next door. Evidently, the business generated from their advertisement in the AANR bulletin is sufficient exposure (no pun intended ) for them. Very nice people and a nice facility!

Edited by - Admin to remove the name of a resort which now openly advertises itself as "lifestyle friendly".

The information in this post is a little old, has anyone been to Edun Lake lately? We'll be in Naples for 3 months this winter, and was planning to visit EL. Any update would be appreciated.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
