Posted - 05/09/2020 : 4:55:29 PM Our new site at nude-friends.com is up and running. In this phase we track down every possible malfunction and fix it.
If you're helping to test (and please do) any detailed information you can provide makes it easier. Providing the exact wording of the error (if present) helps a lot.
It would be nice if everything worked perfectly out of the box, but that's why we chose software with a professional support crew and community. Something breaks, it's just a matter of finding the answer. Thanks everyone for helping in this phase of development. |

Posted - 08/05/2020 : 02:03:19 AM I finally got round to re-registering on the 'new' new forum and site. New picture and avatar uploaded successfully. Tried to change my password; after 30 minutes, I have not received the promised email with a link to change my password. I added a signature and I'm just waiting to be able to test my ability to post a useful comment on Nudist-Friends.

12 Hours later - still waiting for the 'change password' email. |

The images I used are my own, on my computer, so if they 'vanish' I can just re-post them.

Yup... it worked. I use IE and the right click and copy/paste buttons worked fine. Got them saved on my desk top for the next go round!

Thanks FP. I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly! I am often surprised when that happens to me; you're a good trainer.
And now Admin is going to delete all our good work

hahahaha... now I'll have to go hunt for those pics in my profile!

I wonder why we naturists/nudists persist in supporting the (anti-)social media when they do not support our way of life? I don't. I have an Instagram account to look at other people's pictures, but I have never posted.

Many years ago, my late mother made me a Life Member of a philanthropic organisation dedicated to preserving the English Lake District. Last year I received a membership card with an 'expiry date' in April of this year. Thank goodness they were wrong! I wrote to them and asked if they knew something I didn't .

I will be deleting all memberships. I wanted everyone to know ahead of time so we can archive our photos, avatars, descriptions and signatures for easy access when you have to set up your profile again.
Your feedback is very helpful.
In a few days when I'm done tweaking the server settings, we can try setting up profiles again but without the confusion of the Social Media Login plugin. I think the Facebook icons appearing there made it look like the best way to register. We'd rather have members set up their profiles to match our nudist site.
So it's just a heads up that I will be deleting all profiles soon, so please save all your profile stuff. |

Posted - 06/11/2020 : 01:27:28 AM Admin: I made some comments on the new site, particularly that my photo/avatar doesn't appear; how do I get that to happen? I started with a formal (clothed) portrait of myself, and now 'I' am a black cat on a yoga mat.
So far I have had no other problems with the site.
I like the ability to change colour from time to time, I haven't yet picked a favourite.
I admire your commitment to making this work and thank you for your dedication.

Posted - 06/10/2020 : 02:26:53 AM I've made a few changes that should improve the log in experience.
First, that extra login box should be gone. I'm filtering the hackers with a different method. Please let me know if you see that frustrating login box any more.
Second, the forum now appears as the main page of the site. The news items from the right sidebar are still available, but we may have to do without the All Categories page for the news.
Third, I'm seriously evaluating the value of using the Social Media Login feature. When people see the familiar Facebook icon they may overlook the usual way of creating a profile here. It's not intuitively clear that a new user has the option of creating a native account, or just using their social media account to show their avatars and usernames from there.
For those of you who used Facebook, Twitter etc. to join, can you still edit your profile fully?
Keep in mind you'll have two levels of profile, that for the WordPress site in its entirety, and the second level of your profile in the forum section through the User and Account links in the main menu. Through those you can update your picture and avatar.
Those of us with writing skills will be easily able to publish serious articles in our News section, with the help of a moderator.
And lastly, I'm discovering that having a user with the name Admin is a hackers magnet. I might become NFSysop or something.
Or Evil_Emperor, that would be catchy. |

Posted - 06/04/2020 : 12:22:11 AM Just to clarify, there are no credentials on the new site. It's a blank database, so you'll have to start from scratch to build your profile.
Keep your avatar and other pics and descriptions handy in case I remove all memberships for the next round of testing. |

Posted - 06/01/2020 : 11:05:17 PM Well, I gave up on using my credentials for this site and now I got registered with a slightly different username. I was able to upload the profile and the page images with no problem. Now to go adventuring!
Enjoy the sunshine!
