Does the WNBR help or hurt the nudist movement? I understand it shows there is nothing wrong with the naked body, but if there are arrests or shoving it down peoples throats, how can that help?

Nudony, there was about 25 riders. Besides my girlfriend I think there were about 3 or 4 other women. One didn’t ride naked, and one wore shorts but rode topless. My girlfriend and one other did ride completely nude. I can’t remember if there was another or not. I don’t know how this compares to previous years as it was my first time participating |

That is so cool!
How was the turn out? Reports and accounts I've read seem to indicate a gradual decrease in women and nudity over the years. What were your impressions? Inquiring minds want to know!

Well, we did it. My girlfriend and I completed our very first World naked bike ride in Montpellier, VT this past Saturday. It was awesome. Felt great to be able to ride around and even walk the steps of the state capital completely naked. |

The WNBR in Vermont was moved from June to August 22nd. I sure do hope it isn’t canceled as we are going to try to drive up there for it. |

That's been one of my problems participating in the Seattle naked bike ride. The organizers are a bunch of bike jocks who peddle up and down hills at a high rate of speed. The route invariably goes up and down some of Seattle's many hills. I'm an old weekend rider who can manage a moderate speed on level ground. I don't want to be left walking up some incline naked by myself while the whole peloton has moved on. If they organized a route that was mostly level and moved at a modest speed they would probably get a lot more participants.

Here's the info I found.
2013 UPDATE!!! - next ride is SATURDAY, JUNE 8, 2013
STARTING LOCATION: Echo Park (contact organizer for address)
START/DEPARTURE TIME: 2:30PM - -Come early, don't get left behind!
ROUTE: *contact us for a Google maps link -- we will send out a finalized route the night before the ride. The route is 10-13 miles, contains mild hills, a few of which are extended inclines. Our test rides taken at a very mild pace clocked in at about an hour and a half. We've designed this route for safety, tasteful exposure to modern and classic LA landmarks, and for accessibility -- nobody will be left behind. Ride will finish very close to where it starts.
PRE-RIDE: 12PM body/bike decoration at private location --> contact us!
POST-RIDE: After party planning in discussion. There is no definite plan as of yet.

I am not sure if it helps or hurts. Sometimes, I think it's somewhat of a ridiculous or foolish event, and has in--in some locales--been too "in your face" regarding the clothed public. I guess there's some truth to the old adage: "Discretion is the better part of valor." |

I agree with you guys. The more nudists are out in public rather than hiding behind fences, the more we become an acceptable normal part of the culture.
