Over the easter holidays i took my friend, who is very openly gay and quite camp to a club. He seemed very interested in naturism but when he arrived he was treated horriably by the members of the group.
Most people blanked him or spoke over him one even said "puffs dont belong in naturism, i isn't natural". He left early and is completely put off naturism.
I am not posting this to ask if what those people did was right because i know it very wrong and although the members have always been friendly towards me i cannot go back. I would like to know if this is common or if you have witnessed it anywhere else?

Not sure what you mean by very openly gay. If you mean he flaunts himself, is a flaming individual...well, it wouldn't be appropriate if a woman were to be vampish either.
I have a gay nephew who has visited a nudist park with me. He enjoyed the day and remained in AANR for a while until he relocated to another state. People spoke with him, and one year, he even represented my club at a Regional convention.
There are several gay men who visit one of the nudist parks I visit 3 times a year. It's known, but they conduct themselves like normal, great people. They are not sexual overtly at all. I've even danced a few times with one of them. Cheri

Thanks Cheri. Good response as usual.
Over the years, nudist or textile, I've known a lot of folks and I've never cared if they are gay or straight, republican or democrat, white or green, religious or not - I judge them on their merits as people, not what they do in private or what they think about ____. (except, maybe not the democrats) Fortunately most people I know think the same. Little Fellow, please don't let this put you or your friend off of meeting new people or enjoying nudism.

My first trip to a resort. I ran into a college classmate (it was also his first time at a resort), who was gay, and confided to me that he felt he was being ostracized/rejected because of his homosexuality. He shared his disappointment at the fact that nudists were, in his experience, obviously not as open-minded as they claimed to be.
I took his word for it, but then, in hindsight, wondered: "How did it come to be that management and members came to know of his homosexuality in the first place?" Were they all mind readers? Obviously, no. The only possibilities are that: either homosexuality had nothing to do with it and he was being paranoid; or he expressed his sexual orientation either in speech, or in action. If the latter, then it has more to do than being overt, as Cheri put it, than his sexual orientation in and of itself.

Funny ... I heard the opposite. At our nudist swims, we rent a health club 2 times a month. There is a gay group who rents also, but we dont mingle. I was told by a few people who went to the gay swims by mistake, were treated as outcasts for being straight.
Dang so-called tolerant people.
No shame

Wow, this is a disturbing response to something that should be a non-issue. I am not normally a club goer because the ones that I have been to have always seemed like a click thing with far to many politics for my tastes. I wonder how the owners of these clubs where homosexuals are insulted feel about the actions of there guests. Clubs run on money and it seems like a terrable policy to turn away a large segment of our population because they happen to enjoy the sexual company of the same sex. Just doesen't seem like a good idea to me.

When i said opennly gay, i didn't mean he flaunts himself, i mean he never denies it.

JayJ I noticed in a previous thread a request for a J-artiste that was 14 years old and not a bit over a year later claims to be 18. Same "live.com" and same City — — FL
This is not a sex shop and I certainly do not want to have anything to do with a minor. If you are a nudist, enjoy it with those your age. Otherwise, well perhaps the authoritites should know about you
