Arizona is rather conservative but I have always been open about my lifestyle, but as I am a male I think it's more accepted anyway. In a company of over 2500 employees I am the only one who is openly a nudist that I know of, but then I am also the only one who is openly gay, I still get along well with my co-workers and I think they trust me more as being honest than if I were secretive, but who knows?

I work for myself so no one knows but me and my wife. Even if I did, I would have to know someone real well to bring it up or enjoy nudism with them. My wife and I view it as something we share together, and we keep to ourselves when we are at Gunnison or Haulover.
Interestingly, and Doc will appreciate this, I was an EMT back when I was in college. At one point I thought about becoming a paramedic, and part of the training was to observe intubations in an OR. I did my observations and one intubation, a community hospital. The morning I was there had a series of tubal ligation procedures. Anyway, one crotechy old nurse, and I thought this was unprofessional despite the patient was already "out," said, "oh I guess this one wears those tiny bikinis." The patient was mostly shaved except for a small tuft of pubic hair and obvious tan lines. If she or her husband heard that, I would hope they complained.
I saw my share of naked bodies in a clinical sense as an EMT. We were trianed, right from the beginning, the patient has no sex. Get over it. It's medical not sexual. Being at a clothing optional beach is not sexual either. I'll point that out to anyone who doesn't understand the concept of nudism. You want sexuality? Go rent a porn movie or have sex with your partner.

I share very little personal information with coworkers; they are just that, coworkers, and not friends. So, no, they do not know I am a nudist. Actually only a few openminded friends know that I am a nudist. its not that I am ashamed, I just feel like not everything about me needs to be shared.

My wife and I had just returned from a week at a Carribean resort. One of my coworkers, a lady who had lived for a time in Europe, asked what was the best part of my vacation.
I replied that it was going for a full week without a stitch of clothing.
She responded that she thought that was great because most Americans are so uptight. "You wouldn't believe the stir it caused when I started sunbathing nude on my own patio."

My wife has told a few of her co workers that we go nude. Of course at first they liked to tease ehr about it. This spring one of her closest friends at work took a trip to mexico. When she got back she told my wife that she and her husband had "taken the plunge" so to speak and tried it out...both loved it of course. She also said she would never have trie dit if my wife hadnt told her we had done it.

We do not tell co-workers we are nudists, unless they are close friends. I don't follow why you would tell someone about your activities unless they some how brought the subject up. Even then I'd want to get a good read on them before I opened up about our private activities. They would have to show a real interest in nudism, and bring the subject up more then once, before I would jump in with both bare feet. I just don't think every man and his dog needs to know your a nudist. Like it or not, lots of people look at us as perverts, right or wrong, and will never understand us.
If your own family has a hard time with it, just think about the rest of the people. Sorry to say I think you are correct. javascript:insertsmilie('')

I'm from the UK and the reactions of my co-workers are the same as yours. A few admit to going nude as well, most say good on you, some say they would like to but and less than 5% think it's perverted.

I have told just a couple of people at work, that seem very supporting of me being naturist, and now sending in my membership to MNO as well. I was talking the other day with my uncle who has over 200 acres, and very openly explained that unless I am going to an activity with MNO, I really don't have a private place to go locally. He told me to just go out back on the property as long as none of his neighbors can see from the gravel road, he was cool with it.
This weekend I will be doing some all day stuff in the woods, I am stoked about my new found haven.

I took a couple of girls I worked with, and started seeing, to nudist beaches to see if they were comfortable or not. They seemed OK about it and I'm not sure whether they told anyone. I had one girl try to take me prior to this when I knew nothing about it but I was never sure about her motivation. I have always kept this to myself apart from girls I have chosen to share with and they were comfortable and it did not spread around the office. I now work for myself in a small town and I do keep this private as people are very quick to be judgemental and classify you and it may impact my family.

A somewhat amusing story. Recently I was a strategy meeting with about 48 other coworkers. We were divided into teams of 7 and asked to write down two true things and one false thing about ourselves as part of a team building contest. I included a true statement, a subtly false statement and, as the third statement, "once took a clothing-optional vacation". Eventually, my triplet was selected and team members had to guess who it was. I was immediately identified. Then came the issue of which statement was false (and by extension, which one was true). Eventually, I identified the false statment (making the revelation that I had once taken a c/o vacation 'true'). This revelation quickly made the rounds throughout the group.
Three reactions. "I can't belive you did that!"; "I can't believe you admitted you did that!"; and then quietly, later, "What was it like?" from three people independently.
Note the subtlety in the revelation--I simply said that I had once taken a clothing-optional vacation. Nothing in the present tense. No statement that I myself had been nude.
We'll see how things evolve next week.

Congrats on having the nerve to...first - write it down...second - to identify it as a true statement. I might have gotten as far as to write it down...but, if selected...might not of had the nerve to admit it...especially to co-workers. I may be more open to close friends/family if that type of situation were to come up.

I've recently retired. My crew put together a retirement party for me and over 150 family, friends, co-workers and their wives attended.
Lots of food and lot of drink. They began the roast and we were outted at our party in front of everyone. At the end of the party....lots of not so sober friends and their wives came up to hug me good-bye and said...."so...when we gonna go get naked together?"
After the sobered up....no one's come forward to ask about it again! LOL
After 32 years in the fire service and never, NEVER...changing my routine or lifestyle from home to the fire house....too many co-workers knew that I was a nudist. Some had comments til the last day. I never apologized for my lifestyle and never had a grievance filed against me or be told not to do it by my superiors. Even my superiors knew of it and didn't have a problem with it.
Just lucky I guess!

My coworkers do not know. The military can be a pretty conservative environment (as many on this board know).
I tend to keep my private life and my work life pretty separate.

Most of my coworkers know. Usualy they respond with questions and are a bit curious. They say they could never do anything like nudism themselves, and wish they had my courage.

Pilot, how did things evolve in the past year with your coworkers?
