Yes, there are real people at these places. Some are young, some old, some tall, some short, some thin, some stout. I started out as a size 10 or so but, due to hormonal irregularities and brain stuff, puffed up to a size 22 for a time. I'm down to an 18 (37 pounds lighter so far) and feeling good, but definitely not on the 'lighter side' of things. Yet any real nudist would accept me for who I am. Nudism isn't about who looks best on the outside, it's about who you are on the inside. Feel free to pm me or whatever- I'd love to talk to you more.
Melissa

I'm new to nudism. I am okay with being alone naked or naked about my child while I am getting ready for anything. I gained a whole lot of weight with my child and so forth. It's been a year since I've had gastric bypass surgery an I'm not comfy with my body. I've lost 130 LBS but still I don't like being naked around people. My boyfriend is a nudist and that's the reason I am considering nudism. I guess my concern is there real people at these parks? I mean do you really see women and men that are on the big size? I know my body isn't perfect and I guess I'm just scared people will laugh and make fun of me because I'm a size 12-14. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's nothing wrong with a size 12, 14, 24, or just a 2. Nudists accept others for who they are and not what they look like, own, or wear. There are truly all sizes and nudist clubs, landed and nonlanded. There are just about all professions, etc.
It's the best de-stresser I can think of in this hectic world of ours. I wish you well. Regards, Cheri

I just had to comment on this one. I'm sure most of you have seen the People magazine cover with Jennifer Love Hewitt with the comment "stop calling me fat". She is a size 2 and is urging women to "put on a bikini and stay strong". It's no wonder that so many women have body issues (men too) when tabloids attack stars for not being perfect. I've been in the medical field a long time and I assure you there is no such thing as a "perfect"body unless plastic surgery or air brushing is used. So to anyone out there who feels that they can't measure up to the norm, take it all off and celebrate who you are!!

I been trying to convince a new sorta GF that nudism is not about being perfect, even though she looks great at 52 (today is her birthday). She was joking about the women in her health club that are greatly overweight but walk around the lockerroom nude with great ease.
I am scarred from a liver/kidney transplant and feel at ease with my imperfectations. In fact, they are great conversation pieces. Hell, I recruited 2 or 3 organ donors.
No shame

jamaincan_me_happy, I would love to talk with you as, I just introduced my best female friend to a C/O beach and she loved it. She is about a size 16 but she said it was a confidence builder to see all different sizes on the beach, no one is perfect. And heck even the people I would look at and say wow probably still think they have imperfections. If you'd like PM me and we should chat.

I would love to take my wife to Avatan north of the Twin Cities. I have never been to a C/O resort or nude resort. But I would like to go sometime but until then I spend my time at home nude. I would like my wife to join me but having trouble talking her into giving it a try. Tom

As a teen I was nude all the time when I was alone and when I got to eighteen, I joined the local club and went on a nude holiday. I didn't know any other naturists before hand but after I started to go to events I found them.

Tom, Your wife will have to be comfortable spending time nude at home before she can go to a resort.
She will have to take Baby Steps.
