There was a good suggestion for an "off topic" topic, where the Admin won't gripe at you for ignoring the subject!
And so, drum roll please, the moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived! In this thread, and this thread only, it matters not what the subject is, nor if there was a subject in the first place. So, what's new with you?

When you're chilled or sunburned, don't you put on something? You're not nude 100% of each day 365/24/7, and when you wear something, it's nice to have a nudist supported piece of clothing, club tshirt or AANR or TNS shirt.

Cheri,
I was reading you bio and saw that you were "active in your religious congregation". How aware are they of your nudist lifestyle and how did they react when/if you told them? Do you mind if I ask your denomination?
I do alot of the technology for my church (UMC) and have a good relationship with them. Don't know how open I should be.
Thanks Travis

I am Jewish, Travis. After I was part of the congregation, about 2 yrs., I let it be known to the Sisterhood board that I was a skinnydipper. Someone told the rabbi, and I've been open since then. I also appeared on a Cable TV show that was seen all over the southeast. Most of everyone I know knows that I'm a skinnydipper/naturist/nudist. I've even brought in this month's Bulletin (AANR newspaper) for some to see.
A fews years ago, when I told the rabbi that we adopted a kitten at the park we went to, and named him Teva. He said it was an appropriate name since it means natural in Hebrew.
If the subject didn't come up, ie - prefer to not wear a soggy wet, sandy swimsuit, etc., over the course of the years, not sure I would have let it out of the bag as soon as I did. It hasn't hurt me at all and I've become more involved in the synagogue since then. In fact, one of my Sisterhood friends who had a mastectomy finally came to accept herself. Regards, Cheri

Hey Travis,
I just thought I'd post my views, too. I'm pretty active in my local church (a Presbyterian church), including helping out with Vacation Bible School for the kids this week. Just yesterday I shared with another member of the church that I'm a nudist and she mentioned that she's typically nude at home and would love to try out Christian Naturism sometime as she's heard of it. I was impressed by her reaction! Not that everyone in my church knows (yet), but I'm not shy about the fact either. In Sunday School last week we got to talking about how I came back to the Lord again after a long absence. I mentioned that the biggest influence was an article I read about Christian Naturism and that a lot in the article made sense to me. A few small comments were made about how God provided cover for us after we sinned, but I was able to respond to that and we moved on with the conversation.
Melissa

Travis, Tomorrow is another "sister's" first time at a Travelites' event. She's a Special Ed. teacher who has had difficulty finding a position for this next year and is not doing well emotionally. She's come over a few times and the hot tub has helped. Hugs, Cheri

Melissa,if you come and visit and since Allen was raised Presbyterian, maybe you can take him to a service. It's been a long time since he attended a church service. Hugs, me

I don't know where else to post this, so I will just jump in here.
I have a new girlfriend, and one thing she revealed to me was she had been to a nudist gathering before. I was both intrigued and felt a bit odd- after all, all those people watching her nude? I realized that the best way for me to feel equal again, and to understand what she means when she says it wasn't embarrassing, is to experience it myself. Since she lives a long way from me for now, I can't easily be there and ask her to go with me. I'd like to tell her I experienced it and can understand her better. I have to get over this feeling because I do love her, and it isn't something which effects that, but I just wish to understand.
I have been curious about the nudist/naturist experience anyway, and now I have a reason. However, I don't know where to look, and I don't want to spend a bunch of money (it is extremely tight right now) on a membership someplace if this turns out to be a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
I am quite self-conscious because I am a pretty big guy, with weight issues. To be frank, I've also got some other "size" issues also.
I'm in a suburb of Atlanta. Can you give me guidance?

There is a "search" feature on these boards under which you can type whatever information you are looking for.
Nudism is about accepting yourself and others for who you are and not what you look like, own, or wear. There are no perfect bodies, all are beautiful. The body is just the vessel for the person. It's the feel good feeling you get from having just the air, water, wind on you without the constriction of clothing. You know how after a difficult day you take off your shoes? That's how the rest of you feels when you disrobe. When you disrobe, you rid yourself of tension, agression. To me it's almost a religious experience sitting on my back deck nude in nature behind our privacy fence enjoying the sun or breeze on me. Medically, it can reduce blood pressure.
We are all nudists to some degree as I assume you bathe or shower without clothes. To see what it's like for yourself, the next time you bathe, dry off, grab a dry towel as bare ettiquette demands you sit on your own towel, and sit in front of the computer, read a book or the newspaper.
Near Atlanta you have a few nudist parks: Bell Acres in Maysville, Serendipity in Cleveland just south of Helen, and Paradise Valley in Dawsonville. There is also a nonlanded club (one with no permanent facilities) To find other clubs, you can go to http://cheef.com, www.aanr.com, or www.naturistsociety.com.
Ask your questions? Everyone here seems to be like an extended family and will happily help. Regards, Cheri

Just thought I would drop a line to say hi and how nice it is to be with like minded friends. I live and work in northern Saskatchewan Canada and although the summers are relatively short, I really enjoy nude hiking through the woods. There are very few designated nudist beaches in Saskatchewan although there is no shortage of isolated beaches to use. I have visited Wreck beach in Vancouver and it is nice to be in company of other nudists.
The summer is about half over and my all over tan is looking good.
I think Saskatchewan is the Bible belt of Canada however, as the other forums spell out, the Bible is not against nudity, certain parts of our society are.
Nude and loving it.

Thanks, Cheri. I suspected you would be one of the first to reply.
So, my size wouldn't be something to feel sensitive about?
I am nude much of the time I am home- I wrote that first post while nude. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment, so I can't sunbathe nude, nor can I walk in the yard.
I have a concern of that natural reaction males have to women, but I suspect that would be easily covered until such time as things return to normal.
Do these clubs ever have chances for new people to experience and try without having to buy a membership?
Is a single male allowed to attend? If not, is there a way to meet a female for accompaniment without there being anything covert or overt implied?
Also, I know smooth is in, but I was given a bit more hair than normal on my back and chest. Not a full, thick mat- just a little more than averae. Is that an issue?
I have so many things I am curious about, but only a few come to mind at a time.
