I don't know Willy; I have spent some very enjoyable days backpacking and camping in the Sierra mountains around Yosemite, sometimes spending 2 or 3 days nude in the hills. The sun on the body, the cool mountain stream to swim in [oh, alright, it was downright cold water.], and I felt pretty much in tune with nature in that setting. If asked, I would say that sounds a lot like being a naturist while being alone. I suspect it is less the detail of solitude verus company than it is the attitude of the nudist to that company. There is one frame of mind that will strip down to swim in the pond, but would not emerge from the water if others are present; another frame of mind will call out to the visitor, "come on in - the water's fine" and expect them to join the fun, and the nudity. One happens to be naked in the water - the other is socially nude. How does that sound?

old hippie, your description of hiking naked through the mountains seems almost like a return to Eden? Very cool!
What if you came upon a couple with a young child (Cheri would ask this)? Would you have to explain how bandits stole your clothes?
Although it is (probably) not really close to being nude at home, you have given a good example of truly being nude though alone. And you are right, attitude or state of mind is everything. Until I spend every waking hour nude, there is always in the back of my mind some little demon reminding me (when the case is such) that I am conversing with a healthy, witty, and attractive woman and we are both naked!
I (haven't) grown accustomed to your . . .

I was raised with parents with completely opposing views about being nude. I never saw my father, but my mother would stay nude, for as long as she could, after a shower.
I do most of my house chores while nude....saves on laundry...LOL

When my wife and I started out she was the one to introduce nudity around the house. Over the years I have turned into the one you are most likely to find nude around the house. I just enjoy the feeling of total relaxation it brings, especially after a hard day at work. I also was the one who was interested in social nudity. I eventually got her to participate in it but she was very resistant to the idea. It took literally years of persuasion alright I admit it begging! But she will go with me now I go to the nude beach without her though as she can't make the hike down the hill anymore but whenever I go to the nudist resort she goes with me. I think we go through stages in life when we are most likely to want to be nude and I think she is at a point where she really can take it or leave it but I appreciate the fact that she still does go now and then with me. I feel I am a lucky man, I'm still working on getting her to buy off on the idea of buying a home there but I'm not sure that is ever going to happen! LOL! Oh well.

Old Hippie: where in Yosemite was this? I'm planning a trip to that park next year and would love to find this area you wrote of!

Nude Al:
Right now in New England fall is in full bloom and there is a nip in the air, but I have the wood burning stove "roaring" and the fire place in the living room and kitchen are up and going, or though they are gas.
My wife was the one to introduce me to being nude. She was involved being nude before we met, and she wasn't sure how I would feel about it. I LOVE IT!!!!!
We are going to have a relaxing evening with some of our nudist friends, and enjoy a nice dinner, and then we will sit back and watch the "World Series". Life is great.

Luckily when our daughters or grandson visit I don't have to run for clothes since they were raised as nudists, however, if their spouses come along then it's cover up to protect their sensibilities <sigh>

I have always preferred being nude at home, but I never considered myself a nudist until I entered the world of social nudism. Until that time I was just more comfortable when I was nude than clothed. It never really occured to me that I was a nudist. The word nudist meant someone who lived more of a nude lifestyle including socializing in the nude.
