I wish we could move past the situations regarding both ethnicity and marital status in nudism. We're all nudists for one reason - to be free of the constraints of clothing. It's the freedom we seek, and we can't have freedom if there is resentment, clubishness, arrogance, and automatic disliking of people before we get to know them.

As a single guy, I have experienced shunning at a nudist resort, and can only imagine that a person of different ethnicity may well be treated the same away, even if that minority is married and has his wife along.

All that can be honestly asked is - give the person a chance at a nudist resort. Regardless of who you are, if you behave badly, you'll be shown the gate. If you are group-minded, than you belong. I believe it's that way with any group of people.

We do always say that nudism is complete acceptance of the other person's body, no matter what the state of perfection or imperfection. I know I'm not perfect looking, and quite frankly, I have never seen a perfect person at a nudist resort.

To those highly cliquish, judgmental, and arrogant nudists, and yes there are those kind - way too many- don't judge others unless you have achieved perfection in your life. If you haven't, then try to be more friendly and acknowledging of other people, even if they don't fit into your clique.

If you must judge, please try to observe that a person's behavior and attitude have much more salience then pre-supposed notions. In other words, go out of your way to let facts overrule your pre-conceived opinions.

Nudony, you are absolutely on point. Nothing is improved by ignoring it. Nudists have been very supportive to us. We have found no other circles more supportive and welcoming than nudists. We only know this because we have experienced it over many years as practicing nudists.
There are many people who do not know this. They need to see discussion and encouragement to know that generally speaking they will receive support, acceptance, and encouragement from the overwhelming majority of nudists they meet. Otherwise they may be concerned about being treated the way the textile world treats people.
I too have experienced the lone male syndrome when I traveled on business and was without my wife at a nudist resort in the "enlightened Northeast". That was because I had no female with me that day. It had nothing to do with race. I get it single guys. Some of our closest nudist friends are single and widowed men.
This discussion is a forum to provides that encouragement from those of us who enjoy nudism and do not discriminate.

Yeah; if we all just close our eyes, and hum real loud, it'll all just go away! Just as it always has. The simple truth is that there is still racism in this country, and it must still be confronted. But I'm happy to say that I have yet to encounter any at any of the nudist venues that I've visited. In fact I lived at — — Health Club for over 15 years, and have visited clubs from AZ to FL in the last 20 years. Unfortunately I have often been the only minority there (when I didnt have my kids with me), and frankly I would like to see more of us around. And NO, I'm not saying that racism is the reason that more minorities are not nudists, just that in general, we've had different social priorities. Progress had been made in other venues, perhaps it is time for another step towards a truly equal society.
