Hi...I'm a widower of several yrs and am just getting back into the nude lifestyle my wife and I enjoyed for many yrs...now the question..with so many resorts not allowing lone males in..how does on go about finding a lady willing to join in visiting resorts without having to explain the nudist part to begin with? Sorry, but when you tell most ladies you meet that going to a resort is something you are wanting to do again since you truly enjoyed them mean's a lot of..."oh...sorry not for me" replys. Are there resorts in lower MI that regularly allow lone males to attend in hopes of finding a single lady who also enjoys nudism? I'm not talking swinging but much more family style.

Carl, Welcome to these forums. Let me tell you that the single male problem is greatly over-exaggerated. One of my Travelites members who lives in Wixon, MI was allowed to visit Turtle Lake as well as Whispering Oaks. He felt more comfortable at Turtle Lake. I have called and asked as the owner of his club as I do for all my single male members. There are only one or two I can think of in the US that totally disallow singles (male or female) from entrance.
There is a better chance of you introducing a textile lady friend to nudism than meeting a single nudist lady at a nudist club.
I do believe that the MI parks are closed now for the season. Cheri

Carl,
What Cheri said is true, I too think this "single male" not allowed issue is over exaggerated as well.
There are many that do not allow single males into their clubs but some do, you just have to look for them. Cheri's a wealth of information but you can start by looking up the clubs in your area, state or region on TNS or AANR.
I honestly think that if I were in your shoes, I'd join a non landed club that is singles friendly and gain access to many clubs that way. Once you've established yourself with a non landed club or a singles friendly club, the doors open a bit easier to other clubs.
Good luck and welcome to the forums.

First of all, welcome to the forum.
I'm a single male, and I don't have a problem with meeting naturist ladies. I have a lady friend I've been going to open days and various events for two years now, and another who is treasurer of a club, she has accompanied me to swims and invited me to her club. I recently met another lady who is keen to go freehiking with me, and I'm having lunch today, with yet another naturist lady who I met through the CCBN magazine. I know of a lady (Through naturist friends.) who is frustrated at not being able to find a partner who is interested in the lifestyle.
With a little patience it is possible to meet a lady who seeks companionship for a visit to a club/resort/beach.
The arrangements I have are mutually beneficial, as I get to go to places I'm normally excluded from, and they get an escort which makes them feel more comfortable than going alone, which can be unpleasant experience fo a lady alone
Don't despair my friend.

I agree with FP. In my limited experience, once you join a nudist club and an organization such as AANR, many resorts will allow you to visit as a single male. Call ahead and make a reservation.
Best Wishes, Jim

Welcome Carl,
I would like to echo the comments made by others. I have been to many nudist resorts over the years some are a bit more suspicious of new comers than others however I have never been turned away. One reccomendation I have is to join AANR and become a card carrying nudist this will open a few doors. As to meeting ladies well, I think your chances of success are better in the textile world. We seem to be a bit lopsided towards the male side and those females involved in social nudity seem to be already in a relationship. I have seen some go through several husbands and boy friends over the years, about the same as in the outside world I suppose. I wish you the best I think just getting out there will be the first big hurdle to overcome.

I just want to say thanks to all for your support and advice. I did call Turtle Lake and they do allow a limited number of lone males. And Pete..I just want to say you're a very lucky fellow to recieve the type of replies you do...because any lady I've mentioned it to has looked at me or replied by email like I have horns growing out of my head. I also might add I'm renewing my AANR membership! Thank you all again

Hi Carl I was very lucky to meet Judith, she has become a very good friend, as has Pat and they are both at different sides of England which gives me good coverage. Judith introduced me to Suzie, and I answered an advert in the CCBN magazine, corresponded with Dexie for nearly a year before meeting her for the first time yesterday (Sunday 7th January), but all this has taken time, my advice is to not push the issue any faster than is comfortable for the lady, get to know her first. I'm fairly well known within naturist circles in Britain, and my reputation is very important to me, so being a friend is more important than a sexual conquest, if I hit on these ladies they will run for cover and my reputation would be ruined.
See the ladies as a friend, they are your passport to a wider naturist world.

In 6 events of Philadelphia's Phi Nu, including 3 house parties and 3 Swim parties, we have always had a surplus of single males. Yet we have also had a few single females in the mix, and no trouble reported. Everyone had a very nice time, most recently at a Christmas-themed party in December. Where I have seen the "single male" problem has been with my teenaged son. He attended one of the Swims (held at a spa / fitness center,) and was the only one there between 5 small kids and 37 adults. He did not feel comfortable asking even any of his guy friends, much less a girl. That's even less for any girls he didn't know well. He as not attended any further events in the last year.

"sexual conquest" isn't my goal by any means....I merely would enjoy having a lady to join me in activies at the resort..they have eucher tournaments etc...all very up and up...meaning that in the most non-sexual way....friendship is most assuridly what I'm after.

I wish I could agree with the consensus here, but I can't. I have asked a few women if they would like to go with me to one of the two local nudist resorts. They politely declined, then refused to take my phone calls. One of the local resorts, Sandpiper, in McAllen, TX refuses to accept singles. They are very adament, actually downright rude about it. The other, Natures Resort in Edinburg advertises that singles are welcome, but that is not my experience. I visited them before they even opened, and they said they were going to allow singles. So, when they opened (about 4 years ago), I began calling, actually expecting to be invited to visit as they had told me it wouldn't be a problem when I had visited. They said I could not visit (not join, just visit) because they had more single men than women. The answer has not changed in 4 years. I am 57 years old, average looks, degreed, professional, I think I have a pleasant personality, no police record, just a pretty much average person all the way around. So, I don't think it was anything I said or did during my visit. These are the only nudists resorts in the area. The next closest, which I am told accepts singles, in about 6 hours away, which makes it difficult as I have an irregular work schedule. I know there are many resorts that allow singles to visit, but since they are some distance away it would only allow me to go on my vacation, which is 3 weeks a year. I usually take it a few days at a time. I have also heard about the nudist beach on South Padre Island, but they do not recommend that you drive there without a four-wheel drive vehicle, which I don't have. So, I don't have much time to travel, but I do have enough leisure time to enjoy locally. I don't have much money to travel, but I do have enough for ground fees or dues when I only have to drive 30 to 40 miles. I realize you can't solve my problem, but I did want to let you know that it can be a major problem when you are both time and money restricted. Thanks for listening.

I forgot to mention that last year I joined AANR thinking it might mean something to the people at Natures Resort. It didn't. I let my membership expire.

Hi Bones
Which club do you use, I'll be touring many clubs on both north and south islands very soon, I arrive in Auckland on the 20th Jan, perhaps we could meet if I'm visiting your club.

We were due to be there on 27th & 28th, but a revised itinerary shows that is off because the organiser couldn't book accommodation, but I will be at the Auckland Outdoor Naturist Club from 20th to 22nd Jan. We're now visiting Coromandel Town instead of Katikati, but there are nudist beaches there I believe.
That's a shame, I would have liked to have met someone from this forum, never mind eh!!
