It came in stages. I gave up pajamas before I turned 16; on the other hand, I really didn't consider the idea of social nudity until I turned 50, bought a house, discovered that the neighborhood requires back-yard fences other than chain-link, and stocked up on SPF 15.

There are so many who seem to have found the delights of nudism later on in life. Enjoy it for all its worth. What ever age you are comfortable with social nudity, the fact that you have found it now is the important factor.

Hello everyone. I was comfortable being nude in public from the get go, however, i don't remember it much since i was only 4 the first time I was at a nude beach. Like most young kids, I absolutely loved it. At around age 12 or 13, I hit an awkward stage and going to the beach. Although, I did stop wearing Pjs. Then, around age 17 i began visiting the beach again. I am also nude at home most of the time. I love the feeling of freedom. I am so glad I was introduced to it at such a young age. I am now 20 yrs old.

I reread everyone's posting in this forum, and my own. Another forum on visiting a nudist resort for the first time got me to thinking of the stages I went through in arriving at my current comfort and pleasure level on being nude (some 40+ years ago). I'm curious if others went through some sort of stepwise development as well.
In private, and occasionally in boy (and girl) childhold play outdoors away from adults, being nude seemed natural and fun (we got caught once). Guess this preschool activity was the first coed 'social nudity' for me, and not again for 20 years.
Growing up through the YMCA (nude swimming), various sports, lake skinny dipping, and playing Tarzan in the woods, I was always comfortable naked around the guys, even at puberty. No big deal. Just seemed natural.
Contrary to the rest of the family, started sleeping in the buff by mid-teens. Once I was on my own, and before marriage and kids, lived nude most of the time in my apartment. Not only was it relaxing, but it would never distract me from the task at hand. Once in a while I would walk and/or jog alone and naked in a secluded field or woodland.
Finally, living far from where I grew up and now in my mid-twentys, I got up the nerve to contact a nudist resort (descibed in another forum). After years of contemplating this next stage in my nudity evolution, and a bit apprehensive, it happened. I was comfortable in a coed social nudist group!
Although now mainly a private nature and home nudist, the social aspect could be pursued without hesitation, circumstances permitting. For now, that is limited to the occasional beach or resort tanning area. That is just fine......

As a child nudity in the home was pretty normal. There were just the three of us, my mother father and me. At pre-school age & beyond I would spends hours during the summer happy & nude in the back garden. At about the age of eight my mother told me that I needed to wear something in the garden as one of the neighbours had "said something" so nudity became an "in house" thing. I passed through puberty and then all of a sudden I began to feel embarrassed when I saw my mother and father in the nude and retreated into my own angst ridden world for a couple of years. By the age of seventeen I'd gone full circle and nudity was once again my preferred option at all times. My mother became beautiful to me again and I'd grown up, well as much as a man ever does.

I have felt comfortable since I was about 14, but the problem is that I am unable to find others who enjoy the lifestyle. Guess I'll keep looking and hoping

As a child we always used to swim nude in our pool with our parents and other siblings, so I was comfortable from young. We were taught not to be ashamed of the human body.

I was comfortable nude at about age 10. Like smoothNtanned noted above, there was nude childhood play (frequent, although NOT co-ed), away from adults. We often played naked in the woods near our homes, and from the start I was really liked being naked outdoors and with other people. Into my teens, I had a couple of friends I did nude things with (skinnydipping, bit of nude hiking) It wasn't until my late teens I went to our city's clothing-optional beach and went naked among hundreds of people of both sexes for the first time, but I was very comfortable at that time, and was undressed in about three seconds flat.

I played a lot of sports as a kid so nude in the locker room was no big deal to me. I also started skinny dipping in mixed company when I was in my teens. I didn't go to my first nude resort untill I was about 55. Now at age 61 it's the way I relax the best.

I was closet nudist as a kid, skinny dipping and nude sunbathing at home, hiking in the woods at night, alone. It wasn't until my early 20's after I returned from the first gulf war I decided to go out and give a nude beach a try. I got picked up by the M.P.s for that,it didn't stop me though and I have been hooked ever since

I was confortable being nude at an early age, probably as a teenager. It's when I began totally removing my pubic hair that I needed to overcome embarrassment being "completely" nude. What helped me to again being comfortable nude, besides my immediate family, was when my doctors had no negative reaction. That's when I returned to a C/O beach and undressed without any strong apprehension.

At age 27, I occasionally was nude when private in my room.
At age 33, There was a meadow near my apartment. I then carried my inflatable mattress through the meadow. I sunbathed nude in a private area on the other side of the meadow.
My first experience in social nudity was at age 53, I visited Gunnison Beach for the first time. I quickly felt comfortable among the nudists.

From birth for me. Age 11 tried to go nude while sleeping, my mother would have none of that. Officially a nudist at 18 with the visit to my first nudist club. And finally, at age 56, I'm most comfortable with my nudity whilst others seem horrified that an eccentric carmudgeon (I prefer bold iconoclast) would go nude at my age and weight. To those I respond "tough beans".

I think I have always been comfortable, being nude around others. Or maybe I should say, I have always enjoyed being nude--period. While I don't impose it on others (i.e. walking through the house naked, when staying with friends), I am not the least bit hesitant to do it here, at home. I remember even as a very young child, taking off my clothes at every opportunity.
