As far as I'm concerned, outdoor nudism is the only kind that matters. After all, we can always be naked inside our homes if we like. But the feel of the sun and breeze is what does it for me.
I'm being mildly pestered to join a local non-landed club - very nice people, I hasten to add - and I'm feeling a little ambivalent about it. On the one hand, they have great outdoor swims in the summer, and who wouldn't like that? But this month's event is an evening of board games - naked, of course - at somebody's house. That seems rather contrived and silly, in a way that an outdoor event doesn't. Things like nude bowling strike me (oh look, I made a pun) the same way. I don't quite get the point. Yes, yes, it's good to socialize and all that, but to me, nudism is sorta wasted indoors. I suppose I'm making an arbitrary distinction between indoor and outdoor nudism, but that's just the way I feel about it. I guess I could join the club for the warm-weather swims, and then ignore them from October to May, but that seems a bit shabby.

i thought nudism was outdoors.
if your inside your house its just naked!
well if this non-landed group your talking about has some members with big hot-tubs that might be a good event
i know i would enjoy that, i enjoy ours alot and it might be funto invite others over, but we haven't
so thanks for the idea!lol

It is snowing here in Port Angeles,Wa. I'd love to go out running in the neaiborhood, shoes no shoes? anyway I just may go up the hotsprings today and enjoy a nude bath. Indoors...just feel better (happier) naked wherever I am. - zean

Doc, I do agree that nudism is best outdoors. Mrs78 and I really miss the warm wind and sun on our naked bodies.
Personally, I'm not a bowler but the opportunity to meet some like minded people anytime of year would be fantastic.

Risky choice of words, steady! "Like minded" has to a large extent been hijacked to mean "swinger", particularly in the nudist travel industry. Browse through the cruises and group trips on the Castaways Travel site for a depressing number of examples.
But I take your point. There is something to be said for knowing local people who share our peculiar "hobby". Some years ago I met a woman at Hidden Beach in Mexico. It turned out we lived less than a mile apart! Who knew? She was a gold mine of information about resorts and about local hot springs.

LOL Doc. Yes you're correct on that choice of words, not our thing.
We only know of a few people near by that are into social nudity and their motives are questionable. We stay away from them.
Would be nice to find other to socialize with occasionally.

Mrs. Landlord and I agree, outdoors is best. The indoor events do seem somewhat contrived.
Mrs. and I are primarily home nudists because it's just natural. After super, we undress, take a shower, then maybe a little TV, then the hot tub, catch the news and then to bed. Some weekends we do not get dressed until Monday morning. Because of some difficulties with some neighbors, we have screens we put up in the summer so we can enjoy our back yard in our own natural state. We are social nudists frequently during summer weekends at a landed club about an hour's drive away, however, outdoors and nude just seems natural.
But going bowling or a nude dinner party in the dead of winter just feels odd.

Hey all! My girlfriend and I are looking for some trails to hike nude. We live in New Jersey, about 10 minutes from Gunnison Beach (Yeah, I know, I'm lucky!). I have a topic that I started about this, actually. Can anyone make any suggestions? We don't belong to a club or anything.

Come on folks! Nude is nude. Inside you're naked/nude, outside you're a sun worshiper/nude. 'SPLAIN the difference. I take'em off every chance I get, in doors, out doors, alone or with friends. Yep, I'd go bowling with a Christmas get together group. IT'S NUDE. Come on! Enjoy!

Today was the first day this Summer that Mrs. Landlord and I had a chance to spend most of the day alternating between our hot tub and sitting for several hours in a sheltered part of our yard completely unadorned with any clothing. We even took the collars off our 2 lab retrievers.
I think Mrs. Landlord and I are regaining our sanity.

There's nothing wrong with private backyard/home nudism either. When I lived in my townhouse, we enclosed part of the patio, set up some lounge chairs with a table, and a kiddie pool for my daughter. The cool thing on weekends was being able to just get out of bed - already nude, make a pot of coffee, and just stroll outside and sit with my cup of joe and a magazine. My wife wasn't a big fan of patio nudism; but she'd be nude inside and would poke her head out to drop off breakfast or our daughter, who would usually join me for nude breakfast on the patio.
It was social nudity at its most simple and basic, yet it was my most favorite way to enjoy nudism at the time. Being able to enjoy continuous nudity, with a bit of outdoors relaxation, AND without having to get dressed and drive hours to the resort was a big factor.

I'm with you nudony, we've set up our backyard so we have our own little resort at home.
We only have a couple months a year where we can have naked mornings in the backyard but.
I spent the afternoon naked and BBQ our dinner last night and still haven't put any clothes on!!
It's great not having to get dressed and drive to the beach or resort to be naked!!

When we bought our house a few years back we were inpressed by all the gardens and hedges on the property. Shortly after we moved in I was sitting on the back porch enjoying a cup of coffee and noticed that all the shrubs, trees and gardens were strategically placed so that the neighboring properties were not visible from the porch. JACKPOT! I think the people we bought from were either not impressed with the neighbors (which would be easily understood) or were perhaps nudists. I do know I enjoy the privacy and being in the country I can even walk out to and work in my garage nude. Do have to watch that no one comes up the driveway though.

I understand what Doc is saying. For us, nudity is a normal part of our life and we are able to be nude outside most of the day as well as inside while doing the usual daily things.
When we are forced inside ... even though we are nude ... I can get tense and yearn for the fresh air, wind/breeze and mostly ... the sun on my body. Even, at times, I can feel closed in within these walls around our property and need to go to more open spaces such as a club or the beach.
When we are together with our nudist friends at any of our homes, we are always a bit more animated and lively when we are socializing outdoors. We've spent long weekends together and had to be inside and the conversations were good but lacked energy. Once we got outside, those same conversations took on new enthusiasm. Most of us were walking around the property, many asking questions of the property owner about things.
There is a real connection between nudity and outdoors that is much more different than nudity inside, obviously, but for many people, us included, outside nudity brings your skin and mind to life and your attitude can change drastically!
Loves being naked. Plays well with others!
