I'm attending a conference in Orlando in November and will be staying the weekend to visit some of the local c/o beaches. So far, it seems I have the choice to visit Playalinda, Apollo, or drive down to Haulover beaches. Which one is better from your perspective? I know Haulover is officially c/o optional.

Also, approximate driving distances to each beach from the Orlando area would be helpful in making a decision.

Thanks,

yogaman

I personally like Haulover the best. It has places you can relax and not bring everything you need with you, ie. food, soft drinks, etc.

For distances, Google maps or MapQuest can help. The closest anything to the Orlando area is Cypress Cove, the Cadillac of nudist resorts on the East coast is in Kissimmee.

From Orlando to Haulover is a 4 to 4 1/2 hour drive. One way. Could be done in a less time if you want to push the speed limit to 85mph or so.

Not really sure on the time from Orlando to Playalinda, Apollo. I would say under 2 hours. Maybe closer to 1 or 1 1/2 hour.

Ditto Cheri on Cypress Cove.

Being nude at Cypress Cove and the beach are two different experiences but both just as enjoyable.

I agree with Cheri about Cypress Cove. I've been a member there for 10yrs. It can't be beat!! But, if it's the beach you want, Apollo is legal c/o. Get there EARLY if you want close parking. Playalinda has better parking, but isn't legal c/o. The rangers don't ticket for nudity. There is no posting that textiles will encounter nudists. If someone makes a complaint, you can count on a visit from rangers. I've been hasseled there more than once from over zealous rangers. On a busy weekend, you are a nudist, on the slow weekdays you are an exhibitionist!! Bring plenty of water, and your own shade. Both Apollo and Playalinda are less than an hour from Orlando. Haulover would be a four hour drive, depending on traffic. Welcome to Florida....John

We drove from Orlando to Playalinda on Sunday (9/9) and it took about an hour to Titusville then another 1/2 hour to the beach. There are signs posted along the way stating that nudity is prohibited. You need to drive to the end of Playalinda Beach Road and park in #13. This was full, so we parked in #12 and walked north to #13 and crossed over to the beach. North of there is the nude section. There were probably over 100 nude people...so even though this is not a legally sanctioned nude beach it is obviously not enforced. I think as long as you are not doing anything overtly sexual you will be okay. I would suggest you get into the middle of the group, so you are not on the outside fringes and certainly north of #13. We stayed about 3 hours and the weather and atmosphere and water were great! I would highly recommend this beach. We liked it better than Haulover, because it wasn't so croweded, the beach was much bigger and there were many couples not so many singles and no one came up to us. There are not restrooms (except by the parking lot), no concessions, no chair rentals. We took a small cooler and a blanket and had a super time. We played in the water and walked the beach a lot. I would go back there in a heartbeat. We then went to Cypress Cove for a day...another great place!
