Hey there, Went to beach at Cap D'agde last summer for the day, it was very nice, and lots of amenities. Never saw anything weird and planning on going back this year to camp. Wondering if anyone knows if it would be necessary to prebook when going in July? We're just taking a tent so I don't imagine it should be an issue.
Also, another very nice resort close to here is Aphordite Village Naturiste, family oriented and nice apartments to rent. we showed up mid week with no booking and got 2 bedroom apartment overlooking pool for @1/2 price.
Thanks for any responses and I have more info on Aphrodite if anyone is interested.

Hi Wayne
As it will be the middle of the French school holidays I would suggest to book, each pitch is laid out at the GHM Rene Altre camp site and only one tent per pitch is normally allowed, although I did hear of someone who put up a pup tent on the same pitch as a motorhome because the camp site was fully booked.

thanks for the response Pete. We're renting a car in Paris and I've booked a week at the Cap for camping with 3 days on either side for travel. Any suggestions on other nude campgrounds in between Paris and Cap D'Agde?
Thanks, Wayne & Karen

A place we've enjoyed on trips between the Med and Paris is La Plage des Templiers in Ardeche. For other possibilities and planning, there is of course an interactive map on the FFN website.

I stayed at Heliomonde just south of Paris, its probably too close to Paris for you but a fantastic place none the less, it has extensive grounds with plenty of woodland walks, I stood with 15 feet of a dear grazing, it wasn't put off by my presence, I put this down to being naked and have experienced it with other wildlife whilst on 'Secret Naturism' outings in woodland near home.
I drove straight to Cap d'Agde from Heliomonde with a stop over in a service area, but you must follow the free Autoroute (A75) that takes you past Millau, stop off at the service area just before the Millau Viaduct, the toll for the viaduct is 8 Euro's but worth it.

France4naturisme is a good company to use, they represent several of the major sites.
Have fun.

For those who are considering a naturist holiday in France there are some other sites worth visiting. For example, you can try Oasis Village in Port Leucate, which is in the Languedoc Rouisillion region. It's about ann hour from the Spanish border. A good travel site is http://www.pengtravel.co.uk/. We plan to visit Oasis village during our vacation in France next month.

Was wondering if anyone could help a guy who has not been yet but wants to experience the Cape d'Agde Naked City as a holiday.
I am not new to naturism and have been doing it on and off with ex wife for 15 years. I am however now single and would like to go. What is the best and most inexpensive way to be able to go to this venue for at least a week, perhaps 10 days and be able to use all ameneties as well as the beach etc if that is possible on a budget?
Any help would be much appreciated..
Thanks and have a fantastic day everyone.
Warmest Regards Mark

Mark, the least expensive way to enjoy the naturist quarter would be to rent cheap lodging away from the naturist quarter and just visit each day. The day fee, with no car, is very low. You can stay until the wee hours, and use all the amenities.

Thanks VLM34, so I wouldn't need to stay there? Cool. Anyone have any ideas about the best accomodation on a budget right near the resort please? Siomething comfortouble with no chance of bed bugs if you know what I mean :)
Also, is there a number to contact the actual resort of Naked City please? I have only been able to find other travel agents offering the accomodation and would rather speak to the resort to find out all the rules :)
Thanks everyone have a fantastic day...

Public transportation is excellent. There's a bus that takes you to the door. No need to be within walking distance. France is a clean country. There'll be bed bugs only if you bring them with you from Great Britain. The rules in the naturist quarter are simple. Be nude during the day, especially on the beach, be at least as tolerant of others as you expect them to be of you, and obey French law at all times including the French public indecency laws.

Thanks VLM34, didn't mean to sound disrespectful. It was a joke about some places being nicer to stay in that others. I appolgise for any offense :) I am not interested in breaking laws and have been a law abiding, friendly nudist for 15+ years with no blemishes on my record. I am a decent person who is very laid back so totally comfortouble with other peoples behavior as long as it does not directly effect me.
I really just want to know where the best places to stay are to use the resort every day and what it costs to use the resort etc. Is there a direct number to reach the resort?
Who is the best travel agency or accomodation agency to use to get a good clean inexpensive place close by, if anyone knows please?
Thanks for your time and patience replying to me so far VLM34. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me.
have a great day.
Warmest Regards Mark

Google is your friend, as is any search engine. Enter 'hotels Agde France' and press Enter. You'll get lots of hits, maps, reviews, prices, and more. Then search on 'hotels cap d'agde france.' Lots more hits. The two I checked still had rooms available in July. Then compare to the price for Hotel Eve (www.hoteleve.com), which is in the naturist quarter. Compare those hotel rates to whatever it costs to rent an apartment in and/or near the naturist quarter for the same dates. Then, make a reservation online.
If you insist on paying someone to make your reservations for you, try www.genevievenaturisme.com and www.resid.com. Both have phones, which I won't repeat here. Presumably their phone numbers are on their web sites.
When we do day visits to the naturist quarter, we take a car and thus pay for parking. For that reason, I don't know what the daily walk-in fee is. I'm guessing a couple euro. To convert euro to pounds, search on 'euro pound conversion.' Google is your friend.
I didn't find a phone number in the local phone book for the ticket counter at the naturist quarter. There is, however, an FFN non-landed club located in the naturist quarter. They ought to know. They have a huge banner on one of the buildings which includes a phone number. I've never bothered to write it down. I'm betting that you could find that club and its phone number online. I'm also betting that they have an email address. Google is your friend. Be aware that, as a general rule, any information you receive about the naturist quarter from an FFN source is likely to be a pack of lies. That particular FFN club might be an exception to the general rule.
Remember, Google is your friend.

I've stayed twice at Hotel Tennis International, which is near the Quartier Naturist at Cap D'Agde, and recommend it. It is not a nudist hotel -- it was built as part of a large tennis complex and still has access to lots of tennis courts, but you don't have to play tennis to stay there. The hotel is not luxurious, but it has good-sized rooms, nice bathrooms, AC, Internet access, pool, and an excellent breakfast buffet. It's run by a very nice French couple -- not much English, but you can get by with phrase-book French. Doubles are 90 euros plus tax and breakfast.
The hotel is a short drive from the naturist area. In fact, you don't even need a car; I taken a train from Montpellier to Cap D'Agde, a taxi to the hotel, then a 25 minute walk the first morning to the naturist area, where I rent a bike for the rest of the stay. The bike ride is between the hotel and the naturist area is about 10 minutes over flat terrain, and is very convenient once you are at the nudist area itself -- you don't pay for parking, and you don't have to hunt for a parking place that often still leaves you far from the beach. Once you're at the beach, I recommend Le Galion on the beach, which has a restaurant, bar with beach service, beach loungers, umbrellas, showers and bathrooms. Excellent salads, which make a nice lunch. In the evening, I have dinner at one of the restaurants in the naturist area, then ride back to the hotel at dusk. At the end of the stay, I return the bike, ask reception at the naturist quarter to call a cab, and pick up my bags at the hotel on the way to the train. Works like a dream. Now if I can only find a low-cost airfare from the US!

I'm heading to Cap 'd Agde soon. My first trip. I'll be staying in the campground. I understand that it has a beach front. My question is this: "Can you walk down the beach from the camp site to the main section of the beach which is near the Heliport (sp?) resort area? Is it a far walk to the shopping area?

Thanks for all your responses. So is there a central nudist resort in this city? I saw a video years ago that advertised a large resort of Cap d'Agde and assumed that this was all there was, and you had to stay there to use the facilities? I would love any advice about the night life and the best place for a guy on his own to go for some intimate fun? Thanks for your time in advance everyone. I really appreciate the help you are giving me :)
