Not at all. Reality is I don't care if you or anyone else posts an avatar. I know who I am, and what I am, can others say the same? Yes it's the internet and people can play at what ever game they wish. There are thousands and thousands of sites to go to and play out what ever fantasy you wish, how does someone playing nudist help in any way shape or form. Do you believe that some of the posts here promote nudism in a positive light, to non-nudists? All I'm saying is, there has to be a better way for nudists to talk to other nudists, with out the free for all. Maybe there has to be a closed area for people who post true avatars as this will make the discussion, hopefully, nudist to nudist. No avatar you stay out in never-ever-land.

later: I can't for the life of me understand why you are getting so uptight about this. The "free for all" is the best part of being a nudist, and our lifestyle is just that:Free For All.

Secondly, how do you propose we verify avatars? Show up at a moderators house with photo ID? Are we to prove that we are a nudist? Are we going to get a nudist "ranking"? And if we did, where would we wear it?

btw:never-ever-land has a nice beach

Up tight, bent out of shape, I don't think so. Stating an opinion, stirring the pot, yes. I do find it interesting that the posters who are not using personal avatars are most defencive to my comments. As to starting my own web site, we have a web site for our business. I've got enough grief with that, with stupid e-mails etc..
As to verifying posts, why would you go to the effort to post a phoney photo. That statement feeds right in to what I'm saying. Posters claim to be nudists, why then hide behind a false image, unless your not want you say you are.
Nurserobin if you have left the safety of your home and own property, there is a 50/50 chance some one all ready has a photo of you, whether you know it or not. In this day and age of cell phones, digital cameras the size of credit cards, you have no idea of who's taking pictures and where.

A: Saying that there is a 50/50 chance that someone has a photo of you if you left the safety of your own property is a blatantly false statistic. If you claim that it is a true statistic, I would like to know your source.

B: A seperate board of people who posted "true avatars" could be made. Go out and make it. If you don't have time because you're too busy running a business website, hire a web builder. Just stop complaining. If you really think it should be installed at nudist-resorts.org, e-mail the head moderator and let the powers that be know.

C: What would a "true avatar" consist of? Assuming it's a photo of the member it is represnting, how would one know that it isn't just a picture stolen off the internet. It would be amazingly easy to do a google image search for a random name, crop someone's face, and make it an avatar size.

D: I'm a sucker for technicalities and hypocrisy. Therefore, I must point out to you that a cartoon of a man in a rubber tube would most likely not be considered a "true avatar" by the standards you imply (a photo of the member associated with it). I think any photo or picture which a member likes can be a true avatar. After all, this is the internet; it's the bastion of free speech.

E: Not all the posts here promote nudism in a positive light. That's not a problem. We have amazing moderators (like Cheri) who know more than one can imagine and who can show what the family friendly nudist ideal is. Or, rather, what the typical, PG, family friendly nudist ideal is according to the majority of nudists.

F: Why would someone go through the effort to make a phoney photo? Have you heard of trolls? If not, do a search for it on the search engine of your choice...or on a search engine which you don't like. Either way you slice it, you'll learn.

I think that's all I'm going to rant for now. Sorry if I offend you, Later.

Fin.

I didn't blow up. I'm just listing the points where I see holes in your argument.

Time for some comments from the Admin:

1] The endless quotes within quotes is messing up the forum, making it hard to read. Those that keep this habit will be noted. If the quote is only one or two posts back, no quote is really needed, we can tell who you are replying to.

2] 'Later', your posts are bordering on troll behavior, since you don't seem to be granting anyone any ground, or allowing much give-and-take. Your premise that people with a non-facial avatar are probably fakes is a classic trolling technique. Please read up on it, and be careful here.

3] Just for clarity, as the rules state, your avatar can be any image you'd like to represent you, provided it's within our posting guidelines. I have no interest in personally verifying avatars, I just boot those that abuse it.

4] BTW, Cinderela's avatar was pointed out to me by an astute member as being borrowed from a photo set at a soft-porn site. No surprise there. She and all her comments may go bye-bye when I have the time, since her claims of ownership turn out to be false.

5] While I'm at it, THANKS for the compliments. (But it's nudist-resorts.ORG, not COM).

Admin;
I had no intention of coming across as a troll, if that's how it appears I'm sorry to one and all. As I stated I intend to leave well enough alone at this point.
I do suggest members should read the forum Personal Avatars.
In the future I will learn to shut my mouth sooner.

I have read through this section, and several times the last 2 or 3 pages. Later, I do not agree with most of what you are saying, or more to the point of how you are presenting your thoughts. I do not think you are acting like a troll, just very stubborn and inflexible. I do believe that I might be getting your point. If we want to promote nudity in a positive light to outsiders and people seeking information, we should be the first to say "I'm a nudist and proud of it". I guess I can see how you ,in a very round about way, are saying that other posters are going to clubs and beaches and are nude there, so why are they hiding here. I will give you that point, with one caveat, this is the internet and whether you like it or not here you have a choose, at a club or most beaches, your nude, asked to leave or considered a gauwker. I think you have a valid point, you just should have made it clearer, then moved on.

I would also like to add that you say you took your personal avatar down. Why? The reason you give here seems to be only to promote the point you were attempting to make. If you stand behind what you say, should you not set the example.

GuyThaLizard,
"Nude" just means barefoot all over.

and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so,
walking naked and barefoot. (Isaiah 20:2-4)

...just returning after a long (nearly 2-year?) hiatus...so i'm coming into this discussion on the tail end. there's quite a bit of passion and energy on display here (on all sides of the issue), and it warms my heart to think what could be accomplished with all of that focused on positive activism.

that's just an observation, not a position statement.

peace to all.

That is, indeed, me eating fire. That was in my early days, before I learned how to do a "dragon's breath" really well.

I'm in a fire performance group, and am currently working with one member of it to try and form a professional troupe. I love it, it's one of the best hobbies I have acquired over the years. :)

Your right I should set an example if I'm going to expect others to do the same. So here is a new avatar photo. Yes it's real, if I was going to fake it I would have found a better picture, or at least a better body double. When do we get to see your avatar submission?
