The only event that has been cancelled so far is the car show. I haven't heard anything about the bike rally. They do have plans to expand the conversation pool, but I will be suprised if that happens this year. The economy will dictate when that happens.

In 2006, we attended the 1st annual Arts and Crafts Show in July of that year. Around 20 vendors displayed their arts and there was a good crowd. Has that event been continued in 2007/08?

It is a one day event this year. Check the calender on the website for the date. I'm not sure when it is this year. They had a very small turnout last year for it.

I talked to the owner of TLR last night and got a little more info. on these events. The Art's FAir is still a two day event on 4th of July weekend. He has'nt finallized the bike rally yet, it might be in the end of June, but nothing firm yet.

I have the current calendar and do not see anything about the rally...but it does not cover later summer events, so maybe calling the office when they are open might get you an answer on both the rally and the pool.

I decided to take the plunge and went to TL for the first time yesterday. Actually it was my first dip into official nudism. I was a little nervous at first, but it wasn't long before I was not hanging my towel around me, or leaving it close by the side of the pool or hot tub. It felt wonderful! The grounds and clubhouse facility are very nice...I was impressed and can't wait to go back again when even more people will be there. For a while, I was the only naked person there...with three clothed workers-employees working on repairing the hot tub. Even at that, I felt comfortable. Finally 6-7 others arrived and it was nice to talk with some of them. Nudists seem to be the friendliest people on earth! You can't help but feel comfortable! I missed seeing my "pool friends", for a friendly little game of pool...but maybe next time!? I really hope to try to make it over at least a couple of times a month. Now I just need to get my friend to go too! Jim

Sorry we missed you, we went to the clubhouse at 5:00 pm. Next time you're coming out let me know in advance and I'll make a point of being in the clubhouse. Right now my wife and I are both laid off so we are here all the time.
They got the hot tub repaired and was working fine when we got there last night. I'm glad you liked the resort and made the plunge into nudism. You will really enjoy it here when the weather warms up and the people are back.

Hi NudeG! Sorry I missed you too! The hot tub was working, if not a little mirky, before I left and , while not really hot, was very nice. It allowed me a chance to stay in a little longer. I left just before 5! I am thinking that my friend might be wanting to come along and try it out next time as well. She like my report on TL, but is still just a little nervous about it. I'll post it if and when we plan to come...unless I can send a note directly to you? have a great day. Are you doing the water volleyball this weekend?

Hi Jim; Got your e-mail. We are open extended hours this weekend because of the holiday. I'm sure your friend will really enjoy TLR when she sees it. We very rarely play volleyball, quite honestly we aren't that good and some of the players forget it is for fun. It depends who is in the pool if we play or not.

Is the New Years Eve party/dinner sold out? Are you and your wife going? Is it only members that attend or are there local people that come?

It is not sold out. It is also open to the public. $ 100.00 gets you a really good meal and a DJ dance. We are not going as we are both currently laid off.

Any idea if they are going to have the 5k run this year? I did it last year for the first time and am looking forward to doing it again...

They are not having it this year. There hasn't been enough interest in that event.

I am a member of a resort in Minnesota. A few years ago we went to Turtle Lake for the M.S.A. convention (AANR-Midwest) and fell in love with it. We made many friends there who are members at TLR and we have returned several times for visits and conventions. We make a 12 hour one way road trip for a weekend, just to see our friends in Michigan. The grounds in the Summer will surpass what you have seen in the Winter. I think by then you will have many friends there and you won't want to leave....In some ways we wish we didn't live in Minnesota...but Michigan is just as snowy.

On a day like this we are as snowy as you are. It started at 9:00 this morning and isn't supposed to stop until tommorow afternoon. We spent the afternoon playing pool and then sitting in the indoor hot tub watching the snow fall. Very pretty but we sure are waiting for the warm weather. As I say to my wife every day, we are one day closer to spring! When the forecast for the end of next week is for well below zero I have a hard time convincing myself that this is fun.

ng: I got a feeling our utility bills are going to be a little more painful next month. Besides heat I'm a little concerned about our out door hot tub with the cold weather coming this week. How are the Palms rental units as far as warmth goes? Are they rented quite often this time of year? When do you expect the 2009 rates to be announced?
