Well Prof, with the pickup truck, you can always put two lounging beach chairs into the bed of the truck and lay out under the stars!
I always wanted to do that at the drive in movies actually. Of course it wouldn't be practical to do it nude. I remember seeing that years ago. A couple had two folding lounge chairs and a cooler in the bed of the truck. Of course, you could go naked, but throw a blanket over top.

Never used the pick up truck ... started laying out a sleeping bag and thick blanket on the lawn in the backyard and drinking gin and tonics and looking up at the stars til ... the dogs starting barking, mom's yelling at their kids, people yellin' at each other ... sure broke the mood! LOL
We would sit in those "low to the ground" chairs like at the beach and put those on the thick blanket and just talk about life and what it would be like to finally be out of the Navy and home all the time. Life was much simplier than ... LOL

I have owned a pick-up(s) for forty years. Lot's of different experiences related to the adventures in a pick-up. Drive in: We were barbequing chicken before heading out to a drive-in movie. The chicken wasn't fully cooked, so we loaded the pit into the bed and finished grilling at the movie. 'Tom' was in a lawn chair manning the grill as we passed through the gate. Fun times for everyone. Though, sadly, clothed. College: Had a streakers party in the back of the pick-up during a campus streaking event. More naked students in/around the truck than running past it. Beach: too many to list. Camping: see above. I can't image life without a pickup. Of course, I'm from Texas. Had the shag carpet camper too. Ahh, memories.

We took the van to the Drive In once. Because we had the van, we had to park in the last row so we didn't block anyone's view. UPside ... we could open the back doors, lay on our bed and watch the movie naked.
Downside ... too many dang people walking back and forth and back and forth. The Prof was game til all those people showed up. We should have picked a LESS popular movie! LOL LOL LOL

When we first took our nude life outdoors we had a small Walmart pool in the backyard. After our son would go down for his nap we would take the baby monitor out by the pool and enjoy the sun. We found how wonderful the sun felt on the places it had not shined before.
One day as our 2yo son was waking up Angie went to look in the garden door to watch him get up and come out to join us. She was playing with him through the window then he pushed the button to lock the door.
PANIC TIME, we were naked, locked out of the house and our 2yo was inside. After checking all the other doors I put on a towel and headed down the road to my Mom's for the extra Key. All the time thinking of an excuse in case she asked but I was only a little ways down the road when Angie called me back. She finely talked him into unlocking the door. LOL
It was the best of times.

Trust kids to do the right thing at the right time, or should it be the wrong thing at the wrong time

But with you "blanket" experiment, you see that you can set yourself up with some privacy and enhance that set up in the future with some different ideas! Good for you.
We had some great outdoor naked time this morning. Did some naked gardening but now we're inside, showered and enjoying some football ... as soon as I get off this computer!

Blocking the breeze in the colder weather helps a lot but will make things to hot in the summer. We have a privacy fence around our pool and it makes it much hotter than it was before we put it up. We have to run a couple fans when it gets to hot.
For the cold months when you can block the air you can lay out if you have bright sun even when it's down in the 50s.
Just do some trial and error and you will figure out what works for you.
