I, for one, am fine with breastfeeding in a room or public place where I happened to be. Mature, teenage, and younger people eat in public. Why not infants, especially with their need for mother's milk which is ideal for the infant? If the mother were doing something like exhibitionism, that would be objectionable. What is natural and normal is not offensive, except to those people who are uncomfortable with life's processes.

Mothers should be allowed to nurse their baby's whenever and wherever they may be. Hopefully they will bring their babies to a naturist venue where they may nurse them au naturel and we will celebrate their liberation with all of us

I written about this before and think its only natural. I saw a lady breastfeeding her baby on a bench at WalMart the other day, I almost stop to applaud and say way to go.

The sad thing is years ago it was common place, my mom has even told of ladies breastfeeding during church service. It was the way of life back then.

It sad how screwed up things have gotten.

It seems that there are a lot of articles on this subject at the news source you mentioned.

It is totally amazing that breastfeeding is any sort of an issue. There are sometimes challenges and lots of tips'n'tricks to be shared, but any debate on "acceptablily" is simply crazy. I certainly hope this is "the naturist view on this."

To me you are feeding your child the most natural and health thing you can. The only ones that would object would be the junk food marketers that want you stuck on that junk from as early an age as possible.

Perhaps there should be a law that bans eating in public for everyone, regardless of age. A stupid idea? How so?

Don't we expose the opening of our digestive tract to the public? The shame of it!! You can even see people putting food into their naked oral cavity. Ugh!! With naked lips, food being sloshed around, I think it's obscene! It would provoke spontaneous sex right there in public, and think of how atrocious that would be.

Eating in public, even for babies as well as older people is not fit for our eyes and ought to be banned as an unnatural perversity. It will debauch the society and bring an end to our culture as we know it. I say ban public eating for all ages. I don't want to see oral cavities moving sensuously with ground up food inside these biological sex objects.

People don't agree with it "in an open environment" or only after "getting permission from everyone around"? Why on earth should you have to ask permission to feed your infant??

I must agree with what's already been said. Why is this an issue? Oh, because society has said 'no'. So it's ok to see it on the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, etc., but not from the everyday woman? So what if the kid is hungry. Buy a bottle at a vending machine and feed it a liqued Snickers bar.

Geez.

It's a natural, and normal thing to do.
