Hello all, I'm a 45 yr old whilte male, have enjoyed nudity for the past 20 yrs. I have a skin condition called "vitiligo", it causes one to lose skin pigmentation, turns the skin pure white. I know I'm not the only person out there with it, but unfortunately, it effects males in the groin area, so yes, my "meat & potatoes" are spotted. I'm very self-conscious of this, but its not contagious, and there isn't anything I can do about it. I just want to know if there are other nudist who have this, or if you have seen others with it...how are they dealing with it...and, what would your re-action be the first time you saw someone with it. I'd so love to be comfortable being nude around a group of people, but just worried what they might think or say. Hope to see some postings in regards to this topic. Thanks all

On a couple of trips to nudist resorts, we have seen a couple of people with this condition. Other than the initial observation, we never noticed it again. That's the good thing about nudism.........no one cares what you look like, or what has happened to your body............

Like I said in the other topic you posted on this same subject, the white patches on your skin have no melanin and no protection from the sun. You just can't expose that to prolonged, direct sunlight, no matter how much sunblock you use. Melanin not only gives us color, but protects our skin from UV rays.

I can relate, I have a similar though less serious problem, tinia versicolor which gives my torso a blotchy "no tan" look in the summer. No one seems to be bothered by this when I am out though a few people have asked about it. I think most of us go out to be free, not to be looking at how others look.

You may want to look into "makeup" that will blend with the rest of your skin plus offer protection from the sun. I think at one time QVC may have sold it, or check with a dermatoligist.

Nudebiguy, I have freckles, I sunburn easily if I am not careful about using sunscreen and building colour, I too have some skin blemishes as do most people. There are not too many "perfect" specimens around whatever that may be. Relax and enjoy the environment as nature intended.

Guys - thanks for the kind and encouraging words. As I get older I'm starting to come out of my shell...there is nothing I can do about my "2 tone" package, I'm finally realizing, life is way to short to worry about it. If others choose to stare at me, oh well..I'm sure I could find some sort of a flaw on them as well!!! Again, thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!!!

I believe I can relate to your problem somewhat. The pigmentation of the skin on my penis and scrotum has always been considerably darker than the rest of my body. When I was a kid it was the source of embarrassment because other kids would sometimes tease me about it when they saw it. When I got a little older I decided that I wasn't going to worry about what others might think about it, even if they teased me. After all there wasn't anything I could have done about it.

Well, it has been a very long time since anyone indicated that they had noticed anything at all unusual about me. Even with my all-over tan the difference is plain to see. Anyone who looks is bound to see it, but they don't care. My friends know me for who I am, not for what I look like (as if that matters).

It is not at all uncommon to see people with abnormal skin pigmentation at nude venues, and nobody seems to care. Methinks you're worrying needlessly nudebiguy.

Nudists are everywhere, but they're hard to identify with their clothes on.

I have the same condition. Fortunately it is on the underside of my penis but also on my hand. It's never been a problem to anyone but me.

Yes, I have the same condition, but my white patches are higher: around my upper chest and throat. I use sunscreen and find that I get older they seem to actually get some color! I still tan oddly, with the 'white spots' a lot less tanned than the rest of me, but at least they are not painfully sunburned. And my nudist friends don't give me any grief about it (although some of them do ask me about it). I am not going to let this chase me off the beach.
