As I may have mentioned in another thread, Charlie McCarthy, Edgar Bergen's dummy, was said to have been circumsized by a pencil sharpener.
If I were not circumsized by now, I'd skip it. It's not at all necessary.

i had a nudist friend in his 30's that had it done when i asked him why he said he was self-concious when at the gym and nudist club, i told him that i wish i would have had the choice.

I agree with you there Sailawaybob...I would love to have my skin back...unfortunately for me, I never had a choice, it was taken from me as a baby...would loved to have had the pleasure of enjoying my foreskin...don't get me wrong, but something about the extra skin covering the head of the penis and being able to pull it back over the head...wow, I can only imagine the pleasure one must feel to be able to do that!!! I'm not ashmed to admit, I do enjoy looking at pics of intact men, and wouldn't mind a chance to touch one someday!!!

So a Mohel and his date were out on the town enjoying a nice meal at a romantic restaurant. When the bill arrived the Mohel reached into his pocket for his wallet. His date was quite impressed with the quality and beauty of the wallet asked asked if she could take a closer look. Once in her hand, she began to comment on it's soft and silky nature and couldn't resist the urge to give it a few gentle strokes. At that point, the Mohel quickly grabbed the wallet out of the her hands and with a stern reprimand said "that's quite enough young lady, keep that up and it will turn into a briefcase and I'll never get in back in my pocket."

The majority of men you see in naturist venues in Europe are not circumcised.

Today I understand that the incidence of AIDS is higher among men who have foreskin than those who do not. I am not a scientist nor a medical person and really have no background to challenge this data. I do understand that behavior is the leading factor in contracting this dreaded disease, not that you have foreskin or not. As a parent today, I am grateful I had my son circumcised (who knows what his sexual practices will be?). If your sexual behavior is not among those listed as AIDS-related, then there is no worry. However, I do believe in making the human psyche as comfortable as possible. If you want to be circumcised, then do so. You won't be the first.
That is so inaccurate. No medical organisation supports that biased and flawed American study that claimed that uncircumcised people have higher rates of AIDS. Studies from places like the British Medical Association found no correleation whatsoever between an uncircumcised penis and AIDS (not surprising as it makes no logical sense).
I'm sorry you mutilated your son for selfish reasons. You can find many myths addressed on www.nocirc.org
And of course, as the website 'Jews Against Circumcision' has shown, it is not a trivial procedure.
Actually doing what I can to positively promote nudism instead of pretending to whilst overreacting and putting my personal biased view into objective questions

Circumcision has become sort of a "hot topic" within the past few years. As a nurse I have noticed more couples electing not to circumcise their baby boys. Which I agree with. I think its for the most part, a procedure that is not needed. Plus once you do it it's not like you can "undo" it. And many men when they reach adulthood wish their parents never did it to them as babies.
Obviously there is a sexual component to this that doesn't come into play until a male reaches adulthood and that comes up. I don't think this venue is appropriate to expand on that point, so I won't. I'll just say my husband is not circumcised , and both he and I prefer it that way. Had three girls, so we never had to deal with that decision. But if you don't do it to your boys parents, they can always do it later, but can't get it "undone". Something to consider.

Jenn, My wife and I couldn't agree more. Thanks for a "woman's" point of view on this topic.
It certainly can be a hot topic on many naturist sites. I find it difficult to understand how people (nudists) can be so judgemental on a variety of topics when it comes to a personal preference on a number of things that have to do with one's own body.
Though some things may not be what others would do for themselves ... it always seems that a number of people feel that what "they" do is what everyone else should do.
Our grandson's fathers decided that they should be circumsized. When asked why ... they both responded ... "I don't want him made fun of for not being." Then they both, at separate times, looked at me and remembered that I was not. Some back peddling but they both admitted to being naive and narrow minded about this topic.
But again ... it's great to have a female's honest perspective pn this topic and especially from a health professional.

A lot of parents circumcise their boys because they think they are "supposed too". We have one grandson and his parents (our daughter and her husband) decided to do it. Fine, their decision. Our son-in-law is, so I assume that was part of it, usually is. My opinion leans more towards not, but again I'm not "strongly" against it. Just see more cons than pros. If your only reason to do it is so "your son won't be made fun of"...I would wonder in what "context" they think that would happen... Will he be growing up around nudist venues, because if so, I doubt there would be ANY of that sort of thing. Or are we talking about a "locker room" type situation....which, if that's the case, boys in a locker room will find all sorts of "ammunition." If they are inclined to tease..they WILL find something to tease about regardless.
Anyway, it is a decision parents make when your boy is just barely born, and I don't think either way matters all too much in the end. Like I said, the only thing I think that even factors in, is a sexual component later in life for a man, and what parent is even considering that when you baby boy is 1 day old?

This.
I can never understand how these discussions become so contentious.

Jenn,
I think that is was the reason for the SIL's decision ... the "locker room" issue. I told them about my locker room experiences and how I dealt with it but the deed had already been done.
They ALL got a good view of what different shapes, sizes there were when they vacationed with us at a nude resort for a week. I think it opened their eyes to many things.

Jenn,
I know exactly what your saying, I'm not circumcised and Angie likes it that way and would not let our boys be either. I can't see how especially nudist would want to be circumcised, the foreskin is the perfect sunblock.

My Dad actually elected circumcision as an adult (in his 30's). I believe it was his doctor that recommended it. He was in the Army at the time; maybe it's standard to recommend circumcision to service men. At any rate my Dad just decided to go with it.
He's urged me to consider it on a couple of occasions. "Sorry Dad! LOL" I can't think of a good reason to get circumcized at this point. It's not posing a health or hygiene issue, I don't think my penis would "look better" circumcized; I'm just very comfortable the way I am.

There's a thread on another site and group that is discussing this issue of Military circumcision. Some of the guys in the group, older than I, were asking each other if "they" were also told they must be circumsized when they were examined by the Military doctors.
Obviously the practice stopped when I enlisted in '71. I probably would have protested ... they took my long hair ... they weren't going to take my foreskin! hahahahahahaha
