This was the subject of an NAC Action Alert for California posted on June 12, 2003. Any info? I presume we wait for an NAC advisory BUT that date is fast approaching! I am East Coast, so I can do little to help but write them and offer support as any other tourist visitor might.
I sent NAC an eMail directly. They replied quickly and receptively. (Kudos to the NAC and thanks:-)) Their current status is:
"They (the people closer to it) are aware of the Ford Ord situation.
Sometimes NAC will take a stance of working directly with legislators. A public alert for input would be out of place when that is happening. When it is necessary it will make the on-line rounds."
They also forwarded my eMail on to the people closer to the situation JIC.
If you know anything further, or can help, it would seem appropriate to send the NAC an eMail to that effect and check before taking action. BOL.
