Hi everyone! I'm not only a new member but new to the life style at 63 years young! In my younger days I have gone nude swimming a lot but nothing lately. I would like to take my camper to a nude campground sometime. Is there any in northern Florida? BTW, my wife doesn't want anything to do with being nude! Bummer!

Terry, If your wife doesn't go with you it may be a problem depending on where you go. Call ahead and see what the single male policy is at the resort you wish to visit.

mhm i see by your profile your live a short distance from new smyrna beach, why not see if your wife will go to apollo beach you can be nude and she can have the choice between being clothed or nude. my wife isn't into nudist resort but enjoyed the nude beach ( nude). it's a easy compromise.

My wife would have a fit if she even knew I wanted to go to a nude beach, or anywhere else. Maybe I should just forget the whole thing.

Motorhome you won't know what her reaction will be if you don't try. My wife will go with me to a nude beach but her clothing stays on.

motorhome are you nude at home when she is there, work from there and into the yard if private enough, encourage her to join you. that would be a start, than work toward apollo beach.

We live in a very cramped 55+ community. Our window shades are always open so going nude in the house isn't even an option. It is a sign to our neighbors that we are up and about when the shades are open. The main door is a sliding glass door also. At night when the shades are closed the glass door shade remains open until we go to bed. There have been times when the door shade is closed and we sometimes parade around naked.
Maybe I should bring the subject up to her and see what happens. I know my wife and I know that she will never go nude in public but she may go with me to a nude beach. It wouldn't be right to have to sneak around without her at least knowing what I was doing.

Terry,
You are correct. That would be the last thing you would want to do. Sneaking around behind her back is a bad idea. My wife is a confirmed textile and she has no desire to attend any winter swims and such at non-landed clubs, but she did agree to go with me this past June (a birthday present to me) to Gunnison Beach. Even my confirmed textile decided to try skinny dipping in the ocean (although she wore her suit until she got in the water and put it back on before she came out...but she did it). Best to be open and honest. Even though she won't go to any of the winter activities...she gives me the OK if I want to attend. Go ahead and bring it up to see what her feelings are and discuss it. Good luck! Rob

Terry, You have to make your home more nude friendly. If you can't make nudity the norm in your home then nudity will never be normal outside the home.
Why do you have to open your shades in the mornings just for your neighbors? It's your home and if you want keep your shades down and run around naked it's your choice. If your neighbors say anything, tell them you are keeping the shades down so you don't freak them out. LOL

The point with the shades is this is a friendly place and the neighbors know that they can drop in just by looking at your windows. If the shades were closed all the time people would start thinking we didn't want to socialize any more.
I don't think being nude in the house has anything to do with being comfortable in the nude outside the house. It all boils down to be comfortable nude in front of strangers.
I have done it in the past with no problems so I don't think it would be a problem now.

Welcome to the site Terry. As for having the shades open, did you ever try informing your neighbors of your choice to be naked? If it's a 55+ community, I would hope that enough neighbors would be able to rationalize that nudity isn't a bad thing. You can let them know "hey, I like to be naked, so if you have a problem with it, just let me know before you come over and I'll cover up".

Welcome to this forum, Terry. You're in good company!!
I like the way RoofTopWilly gets right down to the point. Very direct and honest. On the other hand, I guess I tend to be a bit deceptive, not because I'm dishonest, but simply like to deflect attention.
Here is my two cents worth:
Here is one idea for you. It sounds plausible anyway. You keep your shades closed now because the light will fade your furniture, and you have some valuable old photos that would be ruined by too much light. You just now found out about this problem of too much light. So now, you keep your shades shut.
What could the neighbors say against that? Such as-- "We don't care if your photos and furniture fade. We insist that you keep your shades open." I don't think they would dare say that.
Just an idea.
