Kim,
I think the argument rests on whether an erection is socially unacceptable. I think most agree that its not, regardless of social context.

The problem is that its not always easy to distinguish between what is natural and what is ill intent. As I've stated before erections are generally not socially acceptable. Just the same as if you were walking down the road. In fact, I would go so far to say any overt sexual behaviour is generally not accepted. Unfortunately an erection fits into this category. Respect others rights and cover up.

I agree with you Spontanuity. I know that it embarrasses most men, and it is a dread to men that are first time nudists. The few that I have seen at clubs cover up appropriately. I have noticed sometimes at the beach though that guys aren't embarrassed, and it like they want you to make sure you notice it.

I think you can tell when a guy has an erection whether or not it is unwanted or he is showing off.

The only time I came close to getting an erection at my club I was body painting my wife's nipples at a halloween dance. It went away quickly when I thought about other matters. So if it is unintentional it is easily dealt with otherwise some action needs to be taken about the offender.

Az Smooth,
Firstly welcome aboard. Secondly, I totally agree... That's what we've been saying all along. That obviously works for those with the right intent... Others will flaunt it and disrespect the wishes of others.

I was just wondering, has anybody ever had it happen to them, or seen it? I haven't in either case. I'm kind of surprised that its an issue.

Nudeisntlewd,
Thats my other point... I've never had it happen to me and I've only seen it once before and the two guys certainly intended it to happen! As I've said in the past, one of the great things about surviving pubity is the ablity to control bodily functions such as an unwanted erection. I can't believe some men can't!

nudeisntlewd, I've witnessed it twice at parks in the more than 30 years of enjoying the nudist lifestyle. The first instance the man was napping, someone tapped him on the shoulder, he rolled over. The 2nd instance the man was strutting around, was told to cover up, go for a swim, a shower, or leave. He did not of the above and was escorted off property. Regards, Cheri

So it is rare. That's what I thought. In my case, I'm just self-concious enough to think I couldn't make it happen if I wanted to. And I'm careful not to fall asleep. :D

Cheri,
It doesn't surprise me that you have a 1/15 year erection hit-rate. I've seen one in 15 years and that was two guys intentionally partaking in a sexual act on which has now become a gay beach as opposed to a nude beach.

Belisha;
In my opinion, proper etiquette would be for an adult male not to draw attention to himself, should he have an erection in public. I am not talking about making a mad dash to go somewhere and hide, but to casually cover up. We all agree that erections happen, for what ever reason, but what some of are saying, is that it is inappropriate to flagrantly display an erection in public.

All I am reading here makes good sense. It has reformed my thinking. I now don't have to quickly cover up if I suddenly get an erection. If I behave appropriately, I do not have to fear being criticized. I believe that is what this is all saying. Correct?
