Had a nice weekend at Purdon Crossing, at the South Fork Yuba River in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Lots of nude folks there, and the water was temperate. There are a series of nude areas along the river, and each had a different flavor to it. One was more hippie-ish, and another that I went to was more for regular people. Purdon is a bit north of Nevada City.
The 3/4 mile trail, up the river from the crossing, was level and wide for the most part, and it was a very short path down to the riverside. There were both nude and unfortunates who wore swimsuits. The folks were polite and not bad to be around. Parking was somewhat difficult near the bride. Plenty of shade could be had a little way up the river banks from the beaches. The road there is, during the last couple of miles, a dirt road with some bumpy parts.
Overall, a nice spot, and there is no fee to enter the area.
