I've seen nude photos on many nudism sites and I'm still living in quandry-land about it all: how do you differentiate between a nude photo and porn photos? Do a lot of nudists take nude photos and allow nude photos to be taken of them? What do you do with the photos? I've had many people- ok, men- who are (or claim to be) nudists ask for nude photos of me. To me this is more sexual than let's-get-to-know-one-another. Am I being oversensitive? Now that I have a digital camera I COULD have nude photos of me.... but do I want to? And what would I do with them if I had them? Any insights about the whole photo thing would be appreciated.
Melissa

Melissa, I never give out nude photos of myself unless it's to someone I know. I post photos of my club members on a website that is accessible to members since it's not a public site (yes, I've told a few where to find them who are not club members such as you). I really think that men who ask are a little too forward for my taste.
Clothed photo exchanges are fine with someone with whom you'r not familiar, but this is mom talking. LOL
If I take nude photos of children, it's of their backs or sides, never frontal shots. If I take photos of adults, it's only with their permission.
Hugs, Cheri

I have had only one photo taken of me in the nude and that was at a local resort I frequent here in NC. In fact, it is in Cheri's yahoo club when I was there during her canuding trip couple years back. I feel if a nude picture is in good taste and not over-emphisizing on certain areas of the nude body, then it is a nudist photo. I belong to a number of yahoo nudist groups and I find some of them have pics that have been posted by men of their 'privates' and nothing else and I feel that is innapproriate. People who emphisize on their 'privates' and not on the freedom nudism brings makes me believe they are there for the wrong reasons.

By the way, I just got a new digital camera as an early Christmas gift from my mom up in NJ and I feel a little unsure if I will be able to photograph myself nude yet. Right now I am concentrating on how to use this complicated thing, considering the instructions are in 5 different languages.
My mom does still have nude photos of me when I was very young playing outside in the backyard with my cousins and sister. Everytime I go see my mom and see those pictures, it sure brings back good memories. I will be heading up there for Thanksgiving weekend and will be looking forward to bundling up for snow again . I don't miss winter.

LOL- I haven't completely figured mine out yet, either. So far I've learned that if you leave the camera on all night, the batteries die. Once I get new batteries I'll do a little more experimenting with it. I'm not sure about nude pics... mom says send only clothed ones to those with whom I'm not familiar. Yet, I kind of want some kind of assurance that my body is 'normal', you know? I guess there's still some body acceptance issues for me to deal with. ARGH! Oh well, I'm changing and growing each day- some day I'll have this nudism thing down.

I agree ,,, nude photos are for close friends, to be shared with someone with whom you are well-acquainted and comfortable. IMHO, anyone who asks for a nude photo from a new acquaintance, is doing so for questionable purposes. I also have a digital cam and a webcam ... but have yet to take any nude pics. I guess I am just cautious.
Naturally, Dan :)

Melissa why don't you go out and get rechargable batteries? I just did and I believe it will save a lot of money in the long run.

We take nude pictures of each other and have had friends take nude pictres of us together at the different resorts, beaches and nudists venues we have been to. We have our own private travel log. We have only exchanged nude pictures with another couple that are our closest nudist friends. We took a group shot and it has become a part of our, theirs and our, travel log album.
We have never posted our pictures or will we. My wife is opposed to that. I would not oppose posting our picture on a club website such as Cheri's group if we were members, and the site was secure and viewed by members only, but just to post our nude pictures on a website is not something we would feel comfortable doing.

Melissa,i take nude pics of my self all the time at nudist beached and resorts,i have an album with at least 100 pics in it from my nudist adventures. The album is for nudits friends and my family only, you must know the people you talk to on the net before sending pics else they could end up anywere.I normaly only post on nudist sites and send to people i trust on the net and i have had know problems yet.I think porn pics are more like well you know porn movie sort of stuff were true naturist pics are just normal everyday people doing things nude.I hope that sort of helps you.

I somewhat agree with FireProf. If you are out at a nudist resort, beach etc. with friends, you may want to capture the moment with a photo, just as you would if you were on holidays with your clothes on. I think that it isn't porn to have a photo taken as long as its tasteful

I have no problems with people taking photos of me nude, but I will only send them to friends that i know quite well. I've had many photos taken of me, nude from behind. In fact, a group of friends and I have travelled the world taking similar nude-back photos at famous places. I've got a great one at an Aussie Rules Football game, back row with a heap of fans watching the game totally unaware that I was nude. :)

I definetly agree with Cheri on this topic. I am a male and enjoy looking at pics, but I would never ask for a pic of someone I didn't know. I would pass on this one if I were you. Start going to clubs or resorts and you will find out how relaxing it is to be around other people. At that point you will understand why not to give out pictures.
Now go take you clothes off!

I would not allow anybody to photograph me in a nudist environment simply because there is no telling where it will end up. It can end up in a magazine in a pornography shop and it will be seen by somebody I know, and once one person sees it, many people I know will see it. I want to control who sees pictures of me in a non-traditional setting. Once they have a signed release from you, anything goes.

I agree that way too many men post pics on nudist sites that just show thier private parts and that gives a negative impression of what nudism is all about. I've posted on a few nudist sites and have even been asked by some site owners to post on a couple of sites (Herbert & Annette's site http://www.joy-of-life.at/ is probably one of the most popular on the web). I think a wholesome pic depicting nudism in a nudist environment is positive for the image, but not bedroom pics or someone in front of their webcam. You can also post pics where you aren't recognizable like a side shot or simply with your head turned away. I hate it when people blur their faces.

I have now taken nude pics- 2 of them, actually. One of them doesn't show anything of importance and became my new avatar. The other one shows all, but only my mom can see it for right now... she's safe and gives me non-judgemental opinions on whether I look normal. I know she'll keep me safe. Anybody else who wants it... forget it!

I have a confession... I have a chest, stomach and penis. Probably not unlike very male in the world (or at least the majority). What's the big deal with somebody you know seeing nude photos of you? Will they be shocked to know that I have a penis? We are humans and all essentially the same, no big deal!
