Here, here Spontanudity,
I agree with every word wholeheartedly! Men look like men, and women look like women. Im sure we have all seen what both look like, so why is it a big deal?

Hey I'm no supermodel and nobody is going to pay me for nude photos, so there's no reason to hide my body! ;-)

I would never post a nude pic of myself on a board or have one taken...oops I forgot my avatar and my profile pic.
Actually, since I don't think there is anything wrong with my nude body or anyone else's, I don't have a problem with pics of me nude. In fact, there are very few pics of me with clothes on over the years since I'm usually nude.
Melissa, as for men you've just met who ask for your nude pic, that's another whole thing altogether. If anyone I just met asked for my nude pic or my wife's, that would probably end the aquaintance pretty quickly unless I thought they were joking or we happened to be at a nude picture trading convention. Hmmm, how come they don't have those?
I have a digital camera but, unfortunately, I've never been a picture taker so I have few pics of any kind. Hopefully, with the Internet opening new vistas of information for everyone, nude pictures of people will become as commonplace as other pictures and not thought of as porn.
As for me, I can't define porn but I know it when I see it and nudist pictures aren't "it". You wouldn't know it though the way the big portal outfits like Yahoo and MSN are treating nudist groups these days. They are contributing in a big way to how legitimate nudist pictures are arbitrarily being lumped in as porn and deleted wholesale from the Internet.

Melissa, good decision ... I like your new avatar pic ... and we don't need to see "all" (unless it's your decision at some time) to like you and enjoy your posts.
and,Yes, I agree ... your "mom" is safe and will take good care of you.

Nude pictures are all new to me. Taking nude pictures of myself was very, very hard- the thought of capturing my nude body on film is downright frightening. Sending them to someone, even someone I know and trust, was also tough. But, like Dan says, she is safe and will take care of me. The new avatar was something I thought about for a while. Realistically, I'm never dressed at home and so I wanted my avatar to look like me when I'm writing to you all. But, there is no reason to show all. First off, I'm not ready for that. Second, I've had enough men writing me private messages asking for nude pics that I fear how some people would use them. I'm not saying that all men are slime or that nude pics are wrong, I'm just identifying my feelings. If I get to know someone really well, maybe I will send them a nude pic. I dunno cuz I haven't really crossed that bridge yet. Well, except for 'mom,' but that's different. Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts. You give me a lot to think about.

Melissa,
I am just gonna take baby steps, one step at a time. When I am comfortable and ready, then I will take that first nude photo of myself. Until then I will stick with the current avatar of me with my head stuck under the hood of my car LOL. By the way, the avatar looks wonderful.

Hey Vealj, any chance you could send me a clothed pic? I might be able to sell it and make a fortune! ;-)
To all, just to do what you comes natural with those you feel comfortable with... That's pretty much what naturism is all about!

Melissa, the new avatar looks great! I must commend you on how much more comfortable you seem since your first postings and the first time we chatted. If only more people had the courage you have!
As far as nude photos, my wife and I do have pictures we took when we painted some of the rooms in the house, and I would only share those with close friends (and maybe as an album on this site).
Asking someone for photos? I would never ask somone I just met, or someone a I hardly knew for a nude photo. In fact, I can't see myself asking someone close for one either.
I don't think innocent pictures of nudity are porn or erotica, but unfortunately there are people who are not mature enough to to view pictures containing nudity, and will treat it as porn or erotica.

Buck,
I agree... it would be a little strange to ask someone you know well for nude photos. Tho' I think in the context that they were at some significant event is acceptable.

I'm getting to the point of seeing that not all nude pics are porn. That took a bit of doing in my mind, but I think I'm pretty much there. Seeing tasteful nude pics on sites such as this really helped me to differentiate between the two. However, being a woman who likes to err on the side of caution, I must agree that sending nude pics to anyone who asks is not a good idea. Further, if someone asks for nude pics of you upon first meeting it's probably not *just* to see what you look like... you can see what I look like from clothed pictures if you're dying to put a face with a name. Or look at my avatar. *Grin*
Melissa
ps- Thanks, Buck, for your compliments. I am far more comfortable with nudism now than I was a month ago when I started venturing into nudism. But I don't get all the credit... so many people on these and other forums have been such a gift in sharing their knowledge and talking me through the many, many questions. Thank you EVERYONE for helping me to become a nudist... I LOVE my new nudist life!

Ive been asking that same question for years. "What's the big deal". We are all human and have human parts. Hopefully the rest of society will catch up with us soon and realize that being nude is just another aspect of being human.
I was just talking about how great it would be to go beyond the nudist resort concept and create our own little nudist town where clothes are always optional so I dont have to get dressed just to check the mail.

I'll be part of the town and I'll be happy to teach in it's school... then I wouldn't have to get dressed to go to work. Oh happy day!
