Fireprof, I agree with you in regards to certain professions (such as your wife's teaching career) being under more scrutiny than other's. I'm in the healthcare profession and there's just certain things the people I work with and 'for' don't need to know...Although I agree with Cheri that the term 'skinnydipping' seems to be more acceptable, with giggles all around, of course

Your right bikeracer. When you hear the word skinnydipping, you think of kids swimming in a pond or creek. It just seems more natural.

I'd really like to be able to answer the door nude whenever a salesperson comes to the door but have heard of some people being visited by the police after such an episode. I think I'll research this and if the local cops don't have heartburn over it...I just may start a new trend on our street.

I also think the risk of opening your door nude might invite some suspision of being a pervert, especially if the one at the door turns out to be a child. In this day and age, we just have to be prudent.

Well most homes, such as ours, have a security eye piece to look out of before you open the door so opening the door nude when a child is on the other side is not going to happen here.

I think the last bunch of posters are guys that are rightly cautious, especially of the publics concern with sexual molestation.

There's a very power, entrenched taboo against nudity in our culture (as opposed to primitive cultures which are still extant today). Whole industries profiteer from it (which is unfortunate in the extreme). The mind seems to gravitate towards what is concealed, so that if people were completely naked EXCEPT for some taboo-laden part of the body, that portion becomes eroticized. It's a kind of game, really, but a game with embarassing (and sometimes tragic) consequences. In the West, the fetishes are breasts, vaginas, and penises. In another culture, it may be the neglecting of body paints or certain required vegetation. In the meantime, billions of folks are deprived layers of experience; the experience of the elements, on their naked skin. Sex is exciting, thank goodness. It's one of the last places where one can get in touch with their primal selves, and be energized about life (after the pseudo and shallow substitutes of materialism wear off). But sex is also a tease, a manipulation (of us), by the 'world' (meaning the corporate world). It's so much crap. I expected more from our new age, and instead, it's the same prejudices, the same 'oh me, oh mys'. I can't wait to go to my first naturist resort (and fall in love with someone's mind).

In someplaces, men opening the door nude and exposing himself to a woman can be considered assault. A woman opening the door nude to a male can invite trouble.

With us the world knows.
When out relatives found out we were opening a naturist complex in Spain, what could we do. In addition we appear naked on our website, associated msn group and naturist magazines with advertising, so not only do they know but have also seen. Nobody has objected, although some are shocked and think we are perverted but there is a hidden benefit. When you have a nice place on the coast in the sun people tend to want to visit and even stay, thats ok, but you finish up being a free tour guide etc.A lot of them say " Oh I could never take my clothes off" so fortunately they dont come. They are always the boring ones anyway. nudepete www.eaglepeakspain.com
