Contrary to Internet reports, the following law is no longer in effect:
In Rumford, Maine, it's against the law to bite your landlord.

So I guess if we move there and if deserves it, we can now bite the jerk. Finally, justice for the little guy!

All of the dumb laws had been removed by the time I was on the Board of Selectmen.

Good point. Don't need assault & battery charges.
What's the Board of Selectmen?

In Carrizozo, N.M., it's forbidden for a female to appear unshaven in public (includes legs and face).
In Oxford, Ohio, it's illegal for a woman to strip off her clothing while standing in front of a man's picture.
In Kentucky, "No female shall appear in a bathing suit on any highway within this state unless she be escorted by at least two officers or unless she be armed with a club."

I just ran across this tread and laughed my a.. off. heres a few from towns and cities from arond my home state of Missouri; hard objects may not be thrown by hand, Installation of bathtubs with four legs resembling animal paws is prohibited, It shall be unlawful to provide beer or other intoxicants to elephants, A milk man may not run while on duty, and my favorite, worrying squirrels will not be tolerated.
Daniel
I know my favorite suit is under these clothes somewhere!?

In Seattle, it is illegal to throw a bale of hay from a second-story window. In California, animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship. In Indiana, mustaches are illegal if the bearer has a tendency to habitually kiss other humans. In Maine, shotguns are required to be taken to church in the event of a Native American attack. My favorite: In OREGON (of all places), one may not bathe without wearing "suitable clothing," i.e., that which covers one's body from neck to knee. West Virginia: Whistling underwater is prohibited. Finally, two from right here in good ol' North Cackalacky . . . Driving on the sidewalks is prohibited! (party poopers) Also, one may not rollerblade on State Highways. Sounds reasonable, until you hear WHY -- Because you MIGHT break the minimum speed limit law.
