I visited Laguna Del Sol, just south of Sacramento, this Monday, the 7th of March. It was a sunny day, approaching 80 degrees, and one of our first spring previews. There were some thin high status clouds, just engough to tell that the sun wasn't full on. I arrived early in the mornging. Checked in, presented my AANR card, paid the daily fee, got the usual handouts of upcomming events and the rules on good behavior. I parked the truck, got naked and made may way to the pool.
Being that it was a Monday and far from summer, there were very few people there. At the most there were around three couples and me at the pool at any one time (there are other pools, but this was the primary one).
Since I like taking walks, I made my way around the lake. It took around 30 minutes to do the entire paremeter. Came across some fellow nudies, but most were clothed. This is a 'clothing optional' resort.
This resort is out in the middle of nowhere, very rural. It has a nice open feeling. There are a lot of mobil homes to one side and the lake on the other. My guess, based upon what I've seen/heard, is that it's a lot more social on the weekends and for special events.
I would be intersted in hearing from anyone that has been there on the weekend or for special events such as NudeStock.
I'd go back, but only on a weekend.

I love LdS. Did you get a tour of the Bed & Breakfast around the other side of the Lake? They have some nice park models on grounds. The mobile homes are closer to the office.
I have a photo of @ 2,000 with me in it from an AANR convention.

Hi Garry, I was at LDS for Nudestock 2007 & I thought it was packed, Just about 2 months ago Me & my Lady friend joined up as Gold members & we plan on going to the new years dance, we have reserved one of the rooms for 2 nights, I understand they expect a good szed croud we were told that we have to go to the Chrisymas craft fair 12-06-08 to put our names in for a raffle & pick & pay for our table. Well, I am heading there today for the first time. Unfortunately it is only going to be in the low to mid 60's but I figure it's not going to get any warmer before spring so I just want to go check it out. I'll plan to go again when it warms up. It's about a 4 or 5 hour drive from where I am. I'll spend the night and get nude as much as possible.
We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us.

I hope that you enjoyed your visit in spite of the rain on Saturday. Sunday was better and a lot of us were nude after the sun warmed things up. Of course, the inddor pool and hot tub make Laguna a year round club. If you are interested, join us for water volleyball in the indoor pool from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. (No Saturday play on "event" weekends)

I have been to LDS about 3 times now. I stayed the weekend during Nudefest 2008. There were no indoor places to stay because of the crowds, so I put a mat on the lawn near the main office, and slept in the open air. It was nice sleeping under the stars.
I love peddling a boat around the lake, although not on a hot afternoon. Around sunset, you can experience some fantastic colors while on the lake. I felt out of this world when out there peddling at sundown.
There are other facilities there, such a an exercise room, restaurant, indoor pool, hot tubs, nightclub, and more. It is a large place, and you can get lost there, if you want. There are campsites on the other side of the lake for a more quiet setting (away from the main area).
Just watch out on those hot July days, when it can get over 105 degrees.
Give it a try, you'll like it, Elad. Next summer, you can also try out Secret Cove at Lake Tahoe, near the northeast corner of the lake, just off Nevada state route 28. Both fine places, although LDS has a longer season. Secret Cove has already had its first snow.

Good Morning. It's about 5:00am at LDS. (Monday). I arrived yesterday morning. What a great place, even without everything available right now...the paddleboats and the outdoor pools. I can imagine this place must be very busy on a warm summer weekend. It was probably in the mid 60's all day and I enjoyed being nude all day long (I'm still nude and don't plan to dress until I have to leave). Walked my dog around the lake at least 4 or 5 times. Swam in the indoor pool, tried out both hot tubs. Had a nice dinner at the restaurant. I'm staying in one of the Park Model homes because they allow dogs but I think I'd just camp out in warmer weather.
I have decided that when I reach 62 I am going to retire at a nudist resort. What a life!

Thanks, elad. I believe you've given advice on this resort before. I'm looking forward to my first experience and will let the group know how that goes. I'm particularly interested in hiking around the area. I understand they have some nice wildlife viewing areas?

Randall- I spend most of my time at Laguna Del Sol since my girlfriend is a resident there and I am a gold member. Let me know when you plan to be there and perhaps we can meet. In addition to the park models, they have luxury hotel rooms and also motel rooms for rent. The resort itself is in an agricultural community, so there's not a lot of wildlife viewing unless you count the squirrels and rabbits. You can also hear the peacocks screeching from the farm next door. Laguna is unique because they are a luxury resort with a nude beach on the river. You should hike down there, but watch for snakes on the way.

I hope you like dogs if you decide to come here.
The management does nothing about the inconsiderate dog owners who think nothing of coming from their campsite to yours to use as a dog potty! The biggest offenders are the full time residents

I just returned from a visit at Laguna Del Sol. I stayed a few nights before the big Memorial day weekend. Although the weather could have cooperated a bit more I was very impressed with both the facilities and the people. I stayed in the "luxury hotel rooms" mainly because the lady at the front desk said with the iffy weather most folks would be at the indoor pool and jacuzzi which share the building with the luxury rooms. I found the rooms to be fantastic and a reasonable value- depending on your budget. The rooms were clean, large and bright. My room on the second floor had a balcony with chairs for sunning that overlooked the lake. Wow!
I did take a look at one of the basic motel rooms. They were adequate but just a little dark, small and too basic for my taste. If that was all they offered I would be fine just would make sure to not spend much time in the room.
Eventually the weatehr cooperated enough for me to go by the outdoor pool. The outdoor pool has a lot of chairs for sunning a large pool and both a jacuzzi and conversation pool - which was warm on a cool May day. I found lots of people willing to talk and found some long time residents that were happy to speak to someone passing though. The residents and non resident members all had great things to say about the management.
I ate lunch at the restraunt which was a nice facility and my lunch was a generously portioned hamburger. I found the menu to be a bit limiting. The facility is kinda out in the country so either bring food or just be fine with the offerings.
The clubhouse is huge! My regret is that I couldn't stay to see it used. Same thing for the volleyball pool.
I made a reservation for later this season and will be back, this time for a weekend!

Nice to see some chatting about Laguna Del Sol, i went there Saturday May 30th and that was the best weather day it was in the 80's. The people there were very friendly every one would talk with you. I went with a couple i know and we been wanting to go for a long time. We had a great time hanging out by the main pool. There was even a DJ there playing some great hits. We arrived about noon and then i had to wait for my friends to show then we had a tour. We stopped by the main pool and across from the road a group of nudist hooped and whoo us, so they made us fell very comfortable. I (we) had a great time nice to be in a very comfortable place, can't wait to go again.
