I believe that the south end of the beach is where gay men tend to congregate more. That would be walking to the right as you face the water once you actually got on the beach. When you get there you'll see a lifeguard stand as you walk out onto the beach along with some volleyball nets. There will be a large crowd of people right in that area and this is where you want to go... just straight out from the walkway. Can't miss it. See you there... as soon as it warms up!

Cool!
I'll PM you JoAnn when I go ! Be nice to have some one to talk to, Thanks!

Sully.
I'll be looking forward to seeing you and some of the new friends I've made on this forum up there this summer. Yes, it is better when there is someone to talk with. Can't wait for Spring!

Yes Spring ! Hopefully we will have some unseasonable warmer days then usual till Summer rolls around!
Too bad I did not discover this beach years ago because I had my Summers OFF for 10+ years !!
Now, with my new job, those days are over but at least I'll get off around noon every day in the summer now. I start at 4 on the morn, love it!
Looking forward to meeting your other freinds too!

quote: Inappropriate behavior at Gunnison Beach occurs quite often and it has become so common, very few people speak up and that is sad.
The last time I went to Gunnison was 2005; so I am by no means an habitual visitor. But here are some of the things I witnessed on my last visit:
- To my right: A group of women who appeared intoxicated, and were wrestling each other in the sand. Tackling, leg grabbing and spread-eagling. Something one might expect to see in a softporn video.
- Also to my right: A man lying about 10 feet from me, facing in my direction and sporting an erection.
- In front of me: A woman lying in the sand, surrounded by three men. One of the men moved in and grabbed her breast. She returned the favor by grabbing his privates. I couldn't believe this was actually happening; when one of the beach habituees suddenly started screaming at them. They were escorted off the beach pronto.
- Behind me: A single young lady was tanning, minding her own business. A man suddenly plopped down right besides her and started flrting. She was visibly mortified; and I felt bad for her.
Of course, there were plenty of other people that there, minding their own business and having fun. But there is definetely a negative element at Gunnison one should be aware of. If you don't have thick skin or don't want dressed guys staring your S/O's privates, bring a tent, parasol or cloth partitions.

Good for you Catbird. I'm jealous. You'll have a tan before any of us.

I know a good cheat on being all over tan that is a tad cheaper and more efficient than a vacation. A good $140 will get you a month in a tanning salon, with lotion and goggles!
I do that routine every February till May to get the deepest darkest tan possible. A word though, when on the beach I still use spf50 to keep my youthful looking skin tan and youthful.
Looking forward to seeing all you dudes and dudettes in the Spring / Summer on the beach! I’ll be the one with the tan and wavy hair! But I won’t be in the water until about August! Mid August.
That is unless gas goes to 4 bucks a gallon again. Then I’ll be the invisible man on the beach with the see through tan.

140 a month ......that's outragous !!!
I got it at gym for 6 months unlimited for $163 although that was a 1/2 price special in November.
Advise on Tanning booths, find out which one most recently had it's bulbs changed, it makes a big difference. The bulbs cost a 1000+ to change so you can't blame them for wanting to get all the hours they can out of them but some places go overboard where you come out of booth and don't get any tanner what so ever !!
Don't do your face too often either, I cover mine with a towel and only do it evry 3rd time or so.
I never understood the stand up kind, you go in there to relax and must stand the whole time, only time I'll use that one is when I get word the bulbs were just changed

The stand up is for the real all over even tan, under the arms to be more certain. Then there is the super duper high intensity 4 face tanner with even more bulbs that costs even more. I use that for the deepest darkest tan I can get. Use a bronzer with a tingler and I could pass for a dude that was in the tropics for about 2 years.
The cost is well worth it.

The only problem with tanning beds/bulbs is that medical science doesn't know the outcome of this. It is more intense than the sun you receive outdoors. Teva

The winter has been too long and too cold. WE WANT THE SUN and 85 degree weather!
or i guess you can build your own "mini-greenhouse" set it up on the beach and get a jump on the summer.
Back at the start of the year i was at gunnison during Polar Bare and some folks set up there greenhouses.

Even as Hedonists, this is a point well worth taking...
One cold comfort of living in the Northeast is the fact that we can't bake year-round, unless we use the artificial UV.This fact makes the summer more special, and it also precludes us looking as wizened as prunes, and dying early of melanoma.Worth a thought.
