This is plain silly - not to mention illegal and will get the beach closed. Perhaps at night on a secluded beach it would be an option - but any nude beach I've been to or heard of in the US has rangers or groups that monitor for that activity. Perhaps in India that is more acceptable?

I must agree with most everyone here. Making love on the beach is wonderful. But not in plain view for all to see. Especially those who wish not to see.

That kind of inappropriate behaviour is the "ammunition" anti-nudist use to close nude beaches. It undermines all the progress legitimate organizations have worked so hard to achieve. Keep it private!!!!!!

I'm ok with people wanting to have sex in public, but the fact that it's a nude beach shouldn't change the rules. Openly having sex in front of others on a nude beach should be looked at the same as doing so on a clothed beach, city park, or shopping mall. It is illegal and if your doing it you should be aware of and ready to pay the consequences if you get caught. Exhibitionists will be exhibitionists. If you, the user, doesn't want your shopping mall or even your beach (yes even beaches are at risk) shut down then it is your responsibility to report the act. Chase the sex fiends away and they will find someplace where you aren't, turn the other way and they will invite their friends until they make up the majority of users.

Any activity that could potentially cause discomfort to others harmony should be avoided at a public place. That being said... i think a lot of people mistake nudists for being Ultra-liberal in ALL aspects of their lives including sex. That is not a given. Hence most people who are inclined to exhibtionism or other sexual lifestyles like swinging... indulge in this at a nude beach/resort. I am interested in swinging myself and I do have a en exhibitionist streak... but I would never DREAM of doing anything like that in a nude beach/resort unless it is something like Hedonism in jamaica.

I'm broad minded enough to not have a personal problem with it BUT I have a serious disdain for it from the standpoint of someone who has seen a few clothing-optional beaches closed down or put under threat because of this very behaviour - or even allegations of this behaviour. The people who do it particularly annoy me because they tend to arrive out of nowhere and do what they do without thinking about the long-term consequences of their actions.

Beach sex that is not completely isolated from family nudism hurts the latter. Family nudists will soon be linked to those having sex in plain view of others. Families will feel rightly uncomfortable with a couple having sex nearby.
I think even the fairly unaware can see the difference between sexual activitiy and, say, playing volleyball in the nude. The first is not for public consumption, and the other is. Therein lies the key - is what you are doing comfortable for all to see? If not, don't do it.

It seems to me that the issue boils down to the fact that overt sexual activity is illegal and inappropriate behavior anywhere within public view. Reporting inappropriate behavior to the authorities may not be the best approach. I believe it is better if we nudists police the activities on "our" beaches ourselves in order to avoid the attention of the authorities. If numerous cases of sexual activity are reported to the authorities they are going to look at eliminating the option of being nude on the beach, since that surely leads to sexual activity. (Or so they may think.)
What really troubles me is that the authorities are quick to shut down nude beaches whenever there is inappropriate behavior, But if the same thing happens on a textile beach they simply arrest those involved. If someone gets mugged in the subway after dark there is never any talk of shutting the subway down at night.
Unfortunately public nude venues attract a lot of weirdos. Private nude venues do a pretty good job of keeping them out. Even though they are a very small percentage of the population, in a large population there are a lot of morons.

In general, I concur whith what is in this thread. However, we must emphasize here we are mainly talking about the USA. On the northern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, beach sex is not at all unusual.
And I distinctly recall a few years ago when talking to a FL nudist resort, he said he and his GF had sex on Haulover beach in the evening, and slept overnight there.
And we must also acknowledge that the USA has nudist police (nothing better to do) and tons of people with cell phones who watch for such activity. And can easily report it.

My boyfriend and I would not consider ourselves "nudists", but just recently began enjoying nudist beaches in the caribbean. Decided to try it first at Orient in St. Maartin, then found we liked the more secluded nudist beaches.
Anyway, we found ourselves in Antigua at Rex Hawksbill resort and the nudist beach was almost totally secluded. We found it a natural inclination to want to make love on the beach. In fact it happened twice in one day. I think maybe only one person saw and could figure out what we were doing, so it was not really in public view.
Now, I find myself wanting to have that same experience again. So, while I would not find it appropriate to view a couple on a crowded beach having sex, I think if people feel they are in a somewhat private spot, that nature should be able to take it's course !!

Taking the calm road and restoring a more avuncular tone, the US Supreme Justice Potter Stewart said in a ruling that he couldn't define pornography but he knew it when he saw it, therefore the question as to what is "defining."
Moderate kissing, arm over the shoulder, rubbing other than sex organs might possibly be non-sexual activities. Who knows? It would be a general judgment.
I am guessing when I think that the more intimate the physical activity is after some threshold is reached, the further away it should take place from families.
I'm assuming that, say, a family that has children around 5 or 6, might be uncomfortable explaining to the children what Ken and Barbie are doing to each other, in a more sexual manner.
I.e., be considerate of other people when at a nude beach; you're not alone at many beaches. If you are alone, go for it.
Hernando, maybe you might contemplate changing your motto to -- Live, love, have fun, and be considerate of others so that they may love, live, and have fun, too.
