The only advice I can offer is, get out there and do it, you'll be kicking yourself for leaving it as long as you have. I was a late entrant into social naturism, and I now regret leaving it as long as I have, all those wasted years,... sigh!!!

P.S. Welcome to the board, there is a decent crowd on here, you'll like it.

Welcome. Go here to find nudist venues near you and follow the links to obtain phone numbers and web site URLs which are typically very useful: www.nudistparksusa.net. Call ahead and make a reservation before going. Enjoy.
Best Wishes, Jim

In the San Diego where he is there are also NONLANDED clubs and beaches. www.nudistparksusa also lists nonlanded clubs where you cannot make a reservation, but you can ask for information on the club and apply for membership. Happy holidays, Cheri

I'm also new too. Looking for some ideas. Get to know people. I will be interested in knowing nudist, nudist couple, or nudist family. I started walking around nude in my room and in the backyard. But it will be nice to do the nudist activities and visit nudist people. Right now I don't know any nudist persons. :( I'm male 24 by the way. I'm also new to the US. Just been here a year. Graduated now and looking for work!

My first time was at a nude beach. This might be easier than a club or resort. It did not take me long to get nude and it felt so great!

my friends and I were in a whirlpool last weekend and a friend asked if we were nude. I pulled off my boxers and put threw them on a chair. This inspired her to take off her bikini. No one could see anything with all the bubbles but she was amazed when I got out to get her cell phone for her when it started to ring. She never stepped out of the whirlpool but that was her first time being nude in front of others.

Just get out there and try it, you will wonder why it took so long! A C/O beach might be easier for your first time...

I'm in the same boat as you are. I would love to try it but I am scared half to death. I guess that in general I am a shy person and I belive there aren't too many locations around Omaha.

Not many nudist venues in your area. Might email crcbuff@aol.com and learn more. There seem to be three landed clubs in Kansas. (See www.nudistparksusa.net).
Hope you give naturism a try!
Best Wishes, Jim

This time of year in KS, probably the only options might be nonlanded clubs. Cheri

The two AANR affiliated landed clubs in Kansas, Prairie Haven and Sandy Lane, have closed for the winter to visitors. They'll open again in April. I believe Heartland Naturists, in the Kansas City area, has monthly swims/potlucks at a rented indoor pool through the winter months. You'll need to contact the club to make arrangements for visiting as a guest.
I'm not a member, but participated in their Sunrun this summer but felt very welcome as a newcomer.

I too would like to experience "public" nudity for the first time. My only problem is A) I haven't transportation and B) I would like to go with someone other than alone. I'd feel strange doing it alone and being by myself. If anyone is interested in helping me get an experience of a lifetime...I live in tracy, california. Type me and let's talk!!!

Carol, Contact one of the nonlanded clubs in your area. They generally have you meet at least one or two people before you're invited to attend an event. Save up for cab fare or find out if the public buses go to the area of the meet. I do not know where Tracy,CA is but there are a number of clubs in CA.
BTW to all those who talk about being nude in public, it's not public nudity....it's social nudism. Public nudity can refer to a "flasher" or anyone who is nude with the general public. Cheri

Carol, I am a neighbor from a nearby community. Like you, I have not tried social nudism. My work schedule and church activities do not leave a lot of spare hours.
There was a nonlanded club based in Tracy a few years ago called Sierra Sunchasers. I think they were/are affiliated with AANR. If I recall correctly, they were not singles friendly (which is probably why I did not contact them). I have not seen or heard anything of them in at least a year.
The nearest nonlanded clubs will be in Hayward, Pittsburg or Sacramento. I believe you will find that The Sequoians in Castro Valley or Laguna Del Sol south of Sacramento are actually closer. Both of these are landed clubs and approximately 30/50 miles away. Castro Valley would be the closest. It is also possible that the nonlanded clubs will hold activities out in the Delta or even closer.
There are several beaches over on the coast which might be ok if this wind ever stops. Depending on which beach, it would be 80/85 miles away.
Public transportation is probably not a good option unless you can use the ACE Commuter train or Bart.
