Good Evening

My name is Justin and I am 20 yrs old. I have been visiting nude beaches since I was very young. Recently, my girlfriend and I went to a nude beach. At first she was nervous about the idea but she decided to go along with it. I have always wanted to go to a nudist resort. How should I go about getting her to accept the idea? All responses are welcome. Please feel free to e mail me a jmg33188@aol.com.

thank you so much

Can you tell us more about what you are looking for in a nudist resort. Family nudism? A romantic getaway? Adventure? Travel?

If you have not done so, you might start by checking out:

www.aanr.com

There you will find links to family nudist resorts all over the USA and Canada.

For international, try the umbrella organization to which AANR is the USA rep:

www.inf-fni.com

On this board, see:

I guess I'm looking for a little adventure. I love being naked in public, it's something i grew up doing at the beach. It seems like the next thing is to spend time with others who enjoy to be naked just as much as i do. It seems like these places have a very comfortable relaxed atmosphere and that's what i'm looking for. At nude beaches, a lot of ppl are up tight and not very social. I am looking for a more social nudist atmosphere.

I haven't much experience but recommend finding a resort that emphasizes family and couples, has volleyball and other group activities and hiking and swimming. The resort's web site usually cover these subjects fairly well. I think such an atmosphere will help your girlfriend.

Best Wishes, Jim

It really depends on where you are and what kinds of things you are thinking of doing. I mean there are adventurous things that might be too much for your girlfriend and then there are fun things for a couple new to nudism to try out. I would suggest a nice resort possibly a small B & B type resort. What geographic areas are you interested in? I could recomend a few places in SoCal and the PNW. There are some advenurous things like the World Naked Bike Ride sep. Seattle area also the Bare to Breakers footrace in San Francisco the Freemont art festival and of course you already know about the fun nude beaches. Off the beaten path maybe a hike into a remote natural hotsprings or canuding or houseboating etc. The list is quite huge can you help narrow things down a bit?

The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. -- Robert Frost

Contact LI Travasuns in the Wantaugh area. They have monthly swims during the winter and excursions in warm weather to Lighthouse Beach. It's a good group of folk. http://www.travasuns.org/ is their website and email is at LITSuns@aol.com

Cheri,

I actually was looking at that place. I approached her about it last night and we got in an argument. She doesn't see why we can't just, 'go swimming" or "go camping" or "go to the beach" She keeps asking me "why do we have to do it naked?" I really don't know what to say to that. I feel like I have to push her and i really don't want to, but I don't want to go to one of these activities without her.
I do know that there is one thing that bothers her. Now, I don't mean to rude to anyone and I apologize if anyone takes offense to this, but she has told me before that she "doesn't like looking at old naked people". She has this idea because usually, the nude beaches we go to attract a much older crowd. I think that if there were people a little closer to our age, she might feel more comfortable. I really don't know what to do to convince her to go with me. But i don't want to argue about it either. Please Help.

The best reason to do any of it nude is that it's more comfortable. Does your lady really like to sit around in a soggy wet, sandy swimsuit? That's what got me hooked on nudism. I grew up in Long Beach and Lido Beach.

I don't know what the age range is for LIT, but it doesn't hurt to contact them. They may even have a clothed meet/greet.

Sorry to hear this is causing an argument.

For us we found the resorts more enjoyable than the beaches simply because its a controlled environment, no one there just to sneak a peek or try to take pictures. And our local resort always seems like a pretty balance range of ages. Also its like any other resort just more comfortable, you can interact with others or do you own thing like you would at the beach. Hope this helps.

How's everyone doing. It's been awhile, so here is an update. Last weekend I went to a pool party with the Travasuns club in Levittown NY. I had a blast. Not a care in the world, just great people. It was a very comfortable atmosphere. I can't wait for summer so that I can go back to the beach.
It is a little discouraging though. My friends are not comfortable with being naked around strangers and some are extremely self concious about their bodies. I have been searching for people my age in the forums and have not had any luck what so ever. I know it is a little fishy, but I have also messaged people in these forums that have sons/daughters my age, but they are all skeptical about telling them to contact a complete stranger over the internet. I know it's hard to do stuff since it is the middle of March, but I really would love to get in contact with some nudists my age. If anyone has any advice on that please share it. Also, if anyone had been to a resort in the Upstate NY or Pennsylvania area, please share your experiences. I would love to hear about them since I am planning a summer trip. Thanks so much.

Cadet Gebhardt,

As with everything, it is preferable to meet people in real life. Don't look in here. Although you WILL meet many nice people in these forums, it's doubtful that you will be as fruitful in your search for real world nudist friends in here as you will be out in the real world. In addition, at least you KNOW that a friend you meet at a nudist venue is from around NY or close enough to visit.

Best of luck to you!

Addendum: I don't mean to condescend. I'm in the exact same boat as you! Best of luck to both of us, eh?

Were there no younger people at the Travasuns gathering?

I have been to several NY parks where there are folk in their 20s & 30s including Empire Haven. Pennsylvan also has had people in and around the 20s & 30s. Are you an AANR member? You possibly might want to attend the Nude U where you would socialize with those under 25 yrs. of age.

To attend Nude U, usually in FL, you would have to be a member of AANR through a club. Usually, it's in FL and you would have to apply through your club. AANR youth membership through my club is $25

Since I am now living with my Grandmother, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to approach her to ask if I can be nude around the house. When I am in my room I am usually nude, but it gets annoying to have to put clothes on to walk downstairs. Although she went to the nude beach with my family and I was I was young, she never went nude. How should I go about discussing this with her? Thanks
