I was taught from an early age to always have clothes on but I was uncomfortable with the idea of being nude right up to the age of about 18 because I was skinny and got picked on because of it. I think the turning point was that I stripped off in an isolated place to have a swim and it felt so idyllic that it became impossible to turn back. My parents didn't like the idea of me going nude so I kept it quiet until I was 25. By then I was my own person and everybody had to accept that I had made that choice. As much as I get frustrated byt the prudishness of some teenagers, I am forced to remember that when I was their age, I was very prudish too. It helps me put things in perspective.

Aardvark, isn't it funny how teenagers can be so prudish? My twins are 19 and they're starting to move beyond that now, but for a while their favorite word was "gross". Nudity was "gross" ... sexuality was "gross" ... everything was "gross" ..
It's also funny that during that otherwise rebellious period of their lives, they're so conforming ... ah well, it's all part of growing up :)

Always been comfortable nude. Either skinny dipping as a teenager with friends on the lake, or laying out behind the carriage house with what ever girl friend I was dating at the time. England was fun because the attitude was so different then here, but also realized that nude beaches were just not for me. More of a Ranger rick/woodsy type.
My wife on the otherhand, wasn't sure how she would be her first time. She always say around the house nude, but only in front of me. I thought her first time to a resort/camp, she would be painfully shy...and she was, for all of 30 seconds. Ok..maybe 30 mins...we had to take the tour before we went down to be with the folks that invited us out...but once at their site..30 seconds. It was hot and humid, and the pool looked so inviting, and on the tour...she realized that it wasn't all "super model" types. So..off went the clothes. She's never been the same since.

It's odd that teenagers can't handle nudity that well. Perhaps they are not ready to embrace communal nudism. Liking nudism is probably meant for adults as well as children (for whom nudity is natural).
As for me, I loved nudity when I was a boy, but got away from it for a bit. I went nude in the mountains when in my latter 20s, but only solo. It wasn't until much later I decided to visit a nudist resort. My shyness probably held me back for some time.

i swear to god, and this is kind of funny, but my earliest memories of wanting to be a nudist are related to looney tunes. i'll never forget an episode of porky pig where he dreams he is fishing and he is pulled under the water and the fish decide to cook him. he is wearing a jacket, and they take it off of him and prepare him for the oven. i can remember thinking to myself "wow, porky pig is lucky to be hanging out naked". i couldn't have been more than 5 years old.
i know, send the guys in the white coats. i'll be waiting!

I really don't remember. But I can remember playing stripping games and remember being one of the first ones out. And not caring. Or taking my clothes off in troth or dare and felt prefectly fine. Someone once asked me if I felt awkward being the only one naked when we did this. Or being the only one skinny dipping. My answer I rather be the only one nude than the only one clothed.

I don't remember ever enjoying clothing, I have never understood fashion. I've slept nude since I was old enough to reject night wear, nude is the only way to swim (I'll wear a speedo if I have to wear something) I haven't done the social nude thing yet, because I have only recently descovered that naturism is a recognised phenominon, and that there are clubs and organisaitions world wide, even christian nudist clubs, I really thought I was just weird. As soon as I get a free moment, I'm gonna hit the local nude beach, and experience true freedom.

I have always been perfectly comfortable going nude in front of others as far back as I can remember. In my opinion, the Human Body (both male & female) is not shamful, it's BEAUTIFUL.

While I didn't know about organized nudism at the time, I started developing an interest in nudism in my mid teens. I was thrilled to find out not only that there were many people around the world who felt the same way but there were organizations dedicated to cause of nudism.

another thing from my childhood that i remember is a three's company episode where there was a beach that everyone was going nude at. janet & mrs. roper decided to go check it out and the cops busted everyone. janet & mrs. roper snuck back to the apartments naked. i'll never forget watching that, i had to have only been 10 or 11, and just wishing i could be outside naked like that.

I've been comfortable nude since around the age of 11. That's when I started sleeping Nude on a regular basis, at least. I didn't have too many opportunities after that until moving to Oregon around age 18 and started hanging out with some more open-minded friends. After that, I've spent more and more time in the nude until currently, I spend about 60% of my time nude, if you count sleeping. There's definitely no other way to sleep.

I think when I was around 8 years old, I had occasions where I would play with my younger brother nude. It was short lived though. For my early teenage years I was still under the nudity = sex program that we are fed at a young age. But when I was around 16, I started to get naked at home for the feel of it when my fammily were out. Whenever I was alone in the house, I would get naked. I am still kinda fickle when it comes to nudism to an extent. I don't care who sees me nude, but I dont get nude around offline freinds/fammily. Mainly due to not knowing how they would react or how much they would understand about how me being naked is NOT a sexual thing! But I have wanted to go to a nudist area for some years now, so I'd say 16 was around the time I started.
We take for granted we know the whole story. We judge a book by it's cover and read what we want, between selected lines!

I been a nudist for as long as I can remember. I was told by my grandparents which who raised me for the most part. As a baby I would cry till least my shirt was removed, socks off. Then as I was getting older every-time they turn around I would be without clothes, even within moments of getting ready to leave for an family visit or a night out for dinner. They had no idea where or how this developed. But over time surrendered to the fact there was nothing they could do. So to this day, nothing has changed except the crying. Friends, family, etc. are just ok with it. Nothing can be done to change it. I wouldn't, and wish everyone would do it.
